UNAPPROVED MINUTES SCHOOL BOARD July 1. 1997 Beaver High has been approved as a Centennial School for next year. Funding for the year w ill be $14,840 00. 6. Summer maintenance schedule was reviewed. 7. The old seminary purchase has been approved at $40,000.00. $10,000 down and $10,000 each year for three years. No interest. 8. Gloria estimated that she has at least 120 hours of labor in the top alone. Durability added by Hurst's giant quilting machine makes this a lifetime treasure for the lucky w inner. The meeting was called to order at 3:00 P.M. by Board President, Robert L. Strong. 2. It was moved by Norman L. Lamb, seconded by Richard L. De Armitt and unanimously passed that the minutes of June 3, 1997, be approved. 3. It was moved by Gary T. Brown, seconded by Richard L. De Armitt and unanimously passed that the bills be approved. The tentative budget was 4. reviewed and it was moved by Richard L. De Armitt, seconded by L. and Lamb Norman unanimously passed that the tentative budget be approved and placed on file for public inspection and that a public hearing be set on August 5, 1997 at 3:00 P.M. for the final budget adoption. 4-- H PAGE 4 Fund raising possibilities to help with putting in sod instead of hydro-seedinlandscaping, new and new bleachers, lighting were all discussed and it was moved by Richard L. De Armitt, seconded by Robert L. Strong that the board seek out and approve fund raising programs that will help with the above projects. Upon a call for a vote on the motion, there were four votes for: Strong, De Armitt, Rimpau, Lamb. One against: Brown. Motions Carried. 9. It was moved by Norman L. Lamb, seconded by Pat Rimpau and unanimously passed that the be new teachers following Milford approved. Angie Hardy, High English Teacher - Linda Beaver High Art Sorensen, Teacher. g, 10. Mr. Willden reported on the skill certification program for 1996-9- 7. All teachers involved in the program did a good job. He also reported that Todd Bradshaw w as selected Teacher of the Year by the Utah Business and Computer Education Association. 11. Letter of resignation was received from Mel Prodzinski. He would like to retire as soon as a replacement can be hired. It was moved by Norman L. Lamb, seconded by Pat Rimpau and unanimously passed that the letter of resignation be accepted. 12. Membership on the planning committees is about complete. Will now set up several meeting dates. 13. It was moved by Richard L. De Armitt, seconded by Norman L. Lamb and unanimously passed that $1,000.00 be approved to help fund a Rural Schools study. 14. It was moved by Richard L. De Armitt, seconded by Gary T. Brown and unanimously passed that the board go into closed session at 5:15 P.M. Personnel It was moved by discussed. Richard L. De Armitt, seconded by and Lamb L. There being no further business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned at 5:50 P.M. These minutes will be presentedfor approval at the next regularly scheduled meeting. Letter to Milford Valley Hospital Patrons Based on our recent doctor situation, we feel that is important to reiterate to our OB patients that routine OB services currently are not available at our facility. it Prenatal workup will, however, be continued to be offered at the Clinic. Emergency services will be available 24 hours per day 7 days per week, routine OB services will again be available in the near future.
