Town Council was held on Monday, March 3, 1997, at 7:00 P.M. at the Minersville Those present Town Hall. were: Howard Pryor, David Eyre, Rodney Carter and Robert Craw. Kurt Visitors: Kevin Carter. Mr. Leo and Kanell, Hutchings, Mrs. .Sean Brooks, Bill Fails, Valine Short, and Larry Maycock. The minutes from the council meeting which was hold on Feb. 3,1997, were approved without correction. Bill Falls met with to council to voice his concern over the access road to pig farms, which will join the Thermo road off HWY21. The council explained to Bill that the Dept. of Transportation and the Planners for growth In Beaver County have made projections for traffic flow that would affect Minersville Town. They have strongly advised the Town to seek the best route for the additional traffic flow. The proposed access road is their suggestion for the most cost effective and also easiest access available. The road does not enter the Town Boundaries and will be a county road. The proposed construction will not begin for approximately two years, if it is not needed it will not be constructed. The Town needs to look at safety factors in residential areas and also the extra cost of maintenance on the Towns roads if traffic flow increases. Kurt Hutchings from Five Association of County Governments met with the Council to explain the importance of the Minersville Planning and Commission. He Zoning the Council of explained Governments and the Goals and objectives of Beaver County. He explained the importance of Minersville Town and Beaver County working together on common goals. The planning and zoning commission will be instrumental in recommending the goals for Minersville Town. Rodney Carter reported that Tammy Pearson has asked to be replaced on the planning and zoning commission. The council appreciates the excellent job she has done. The council appointed Eileen Craw to serve on the planning and zoning commission. The' members of the Minersville Planning and Zoning Commission are Ted Carter, Mark Hopkins, Ward Dotson, Doug Albrecht, and Eileen Craw. They will meet Tues. March 18, 1997, at 7:00 P.M. Copies of proposed legislation were passed to the council members. They were asked to review the legislation and to stay aware of the laws that will affect the Town.
