Dear Editor; Each week as my parents forward me the Bear River Valley Leader, the first column that I look for is "News From the Boys In the Service." Even though I, myself, am here serving in the Army, I am equally interested in knowing where my friends and buddies are serving our country. Through this column each weeK 1 am finding out. Here in Camp Polk, Louisiana, I think we have one of the largest groups of Bear River Valley boys since the departure of the National Guard form Garland, The group consists of: Privates Marion Sorensen and Eugene Oyler, of East Garland; Private First Class Lawrence Allen from Portage, Private David F. Burnett from Plymouth, Private Lavoy Udy from Riverside, Private Leland Carlson from East Tremonton, Private Dee Newman and Corporal James O. Adams from Thatcher, Private Emery Nelsen from Penrose, Private Lorin Rogers and Private Leon Garfield from Tremonton, Privates Jack Driggs and Leward Tarbet from Garland, and Private Ceal Bishop from Beaver Dam. We came here in a group the latter part of October and were some of the first recruits to form the 11th Armored Division of Uncle Sam's Armored Forces. Though Louisiana doesn't compare with Utah, P. Long's paradise is a typical training ground for an Armored Division. So, we have contented ourselves to our training with the consolation, tnat some day we will return to the valley we love. We are all happy and are being well taken care of. Our thoughts are ever of home and our regards extend to all. , Sincerely, Corporal James O. Adams Med. Det. 91st Armd. Ren.
