Petersen and Scott Petersen to Salt Lake City. The P. T. A. of the Thatcher.Pen-ros-e school are meeting tonight (Thursday) in the Penrose meeting house. Dr. Houston, of Salt Lake City is to be the speaker, and will discuss problems that are to be found In the schools. A rood program has been outlined and the parents will enjoy an evening of entertainment. William M. Miller left Thursday of last week for Magna, where he visit ed with his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. Howard Wadsworth. They accompanied him to Salt Lake City, where they met Mr. and Mrs. Fred L Petersen, of Brigham City. Mr. Petersen had been in Salt Lake City for a special accessors meeting. En- route home Seymour L Miller of Sy racuse, Utah, joined them and is at present staying at the home of Wil liam M. Miller. Mrs. Taylor had been here Bince Thanksgiving-Mr. and Mrs. Leavitt Taylor, of Ogden, are guests of the Jensens. Titus Shuman returned last week from a trip to California. Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Fredrickson and the Misses Verlie and Vergie Fredrickson were in Ogden Monday. Mrs. Mary Anderson of Thatcher accompanied them. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Miller were in Ogden Monday on business. Mr. and Mrs. Engvar Petersen and family returned home Friday from a six weeks tour of the Southern States. They visited Mrs. Petersen's old home in Kentucky and came back by Mesa, Arizona, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Perry L. Stanfill and family. They report having had a wonderful trip and enjoyed them selves very much, Taut are glad to be home. Bishop and Mrs. D. M. Grover, Mr. and Mrs. J. Wilford Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Edmun C. Shuman, Mesdames Alice R. Miller, Josephine Petersen, Ida O. Miller, Hazel P. Stokes, Myrtle P. Miller, Jane Jensen, Aurelia M. Eosley, Birdie Petersen and Olive P. Miller were in attendance at the Logan Temple Friday. William Bosley drove one of the cars over. Bishop and Mrs. Grover had a chance to see Mrs. Graver's brother, who was going to California. They hadVt met for 9 years. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Petersen and daughters, Marie and Faye, were in Ogden on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. N. W. Taylor return ed from Ogden Sunday. Word has been received that Dewayne Call, small son of Mr. and Mrs Ivan Call, of Afton, Wyoming, 'has been quite ill with stomach trouble. We hope for a speedy recovery. Mrs. Sarah Shuman has been quiteill with a cold for the past two weeka The Seventies' quorum of Beaver, Messrs Busenbark, George, Johnson and Myron Hansen ; and of Tremonton Messrs Roundy and Stevens were in attendance at the Sacrament meeting Sunday evening. They left some very good advice with us. The bishopric, with the help of the Relief Society, are fixing up our ward meeting house. Drapes for the win dows are now ready and other equipment for the betterment of the ward is being taken care of. Plans are going forward to equip the recreation hall with a stage. The Relief Society had as their vis itor last week, Mrs. Ellen Capener of the stake board. Tuesday was spent quilting. A surprise party was held at Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Hansen's of Bear River City, for the Misses Virlie and Verigie Fredrickson, whose birthdays were December 14. A sumptious din ner was njoyed. On Tuesday evening a family dinner was had at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Fredrickson in their honor. - - ' : a tn r: III V . Christmas seals may be used on letters and parcels, but should not obstruct the address or the return address. Christmas cards in envelopes, when mailed in the city for delivery in the must city, require but one cent and aeuv-ery be sealed. Cards addressed tor outside of the city will go anywhere in the United States for one cent and a half when left unsealed. When sealed, they require three cents except for local rural rounts, wnicn i3 two cents when sealed. Patrons on rural rounts are required to place their postage on letters and cards and not leave this for the car rier to do, as that is not a part of his official duties. Carriers have a supply of postage stamps and will gladly supply their patrons needs. Mail dispatches are made as follows: 7 a. tel., to all points; 11 a. m. north to Malad; 5 p. m. all points. Incoming mails are at 8 and 11:30 a. m.
