Rasmussen Tuesday evening on his 70th birthday, when his children Luby and Peter, came up from Salt Lake and several of his friends and neighbors came also. A chicken supper was served to 12 guests and a very pleasant evening was spent Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen of Bear River City were the only out of town guests. They are old school chums from Denmark. The Bee Hive girls of the M. I. A. had a treasure hunt and party Tuesday evening under the direction of their teacher. Mrs. Dagmar Andersen Mrs. Lillian Rasmussen and Mrs. Annie Bronsen. All enjoyed the evening. The Parent - Teacher organization held a social here Thursday evening. Chairman Mrs. Ada Fridal presided. A very nice program was rendered. Mr. Leonard introduced the lady ttachers, the Misses Horsley, Rigby and Pugsley and a report of the activity was given. It was very commendable to know that through the assistance of Mrs. Larsen, the W. P. A. leader, assisted by volunteer parents, 1400 quarts of vegetables peas beans, corn and tomatoes, had been canned for the school lunches. Mrs. Larsen has gone to all the school districts and given like help. After the program progressive games were enjoyed under the able leadership of Mrs. Rebecca Mortensen. A lovely tray lunch was served to some 40 parents and teachers. A very sociable time was enjoyed by all present. It is the desire that all parents join for the united good of the children and the community as a whole. Bishop and Mrs. H. M. Zollinger of Providence visited with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Aldon Thompson on Sunday. Bishop Zollinger spoke in meeting and gave some very interesting experiences from his missionary labor in the south. Herman Andreasen had the misfortune last week of breaking his leg while plowing beets. The horses got frightened and ran away resulting in his injury. He is getting along favorably. Miss Sadie Lund of Ogden was a Sunday guest of her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heslop.
