Mr. Burgener, in this work has the approval of the County Superintendent of .Schools, President of the Stake, C. E. Smith, and the bishops of the wards where he has sought such approval. Tuesday evening Mr. Burgener visited the local mutual nad diiscussed his plan of procedure in general assembly as well as in departmental classes. A hearty reception and approval greeted each talk. Their plan is briefly as follows: They will loan your boy and girl a new instrument and furnish all music needed. The total rental cost is $15.25, this includes the use of any band instrument, regardless of price, also includes free lessons and music, for a term of 6 weeks. If the student owns his or her own instrument the cost of tuition is $5.25 being the cost of all music needed and lessons two per week, for 6 weeks. At the expiration of the first six ks, a parents' meeting will be held 'm v. the beginners' band will play to " .aonstrate to parents what they .ave been able to accomplish during the first 6 weeks and satisfactory ar rangements will then be made for the continuance of the band. This plan has for its purpose to demonstrate to parents by proving definitely whether or not the student has musical talent before it becomes necessary to purchase a band instrument and there is absolutely no obligation on the part of anyone to purchase, but in case the instrument is used or some other instrument is purchased after the parent is fully convinced that the student has musical talent then ten dollars of the $15 paid be applied on the purchase price of the instrument and $5 to the leader. A meeting will be held at the Ward Chapel, Wednesday, November 5th, at which parents interested may learn further of the plan. A free demonstration of methods used and musical program will be given in connection with the meeting. Strand and a solo by Mrs. Eberhart Zundell. The speakers were Lars Anderson, a neighbor and life long friend of the deceased; Dr. William Eli Hawkins, who also was a neighbor and long time friend; and Bishop D. Milton Marble, of the Bothwell Ward, the ward in which Mr. Nichols resided for many years. The speakers all told of the Nichol's generosity in the early days of the valley in throwing their home open for meeting and social gatherings and of his unselfish efforts to help in the growth and development of the valley. The large crowd and the huge floral tributes bespoke of the esteem in which the deceased and his family are held. Reverarul A. R. Dickson, of the M. E. Church, offered the invocation and Ezra Harris, of the Bothwell ward, the benediction. Interment was made in the Tremonton City Cemetery, Bishop Marble dedicating the grave.
