Also a graduate of the Box Jt,lder high school in 1917 and since that time has studied higher mathematics and French while in the army, as well as completing a course m salesmanship, real estate and business English through the Knights of Columbus home study course under the direction of Cornell University. Mr. Welling was one of the first five boys from Box Elder County to volunteer in the world war and spent over two years in the service in America and France. His service brought recognition as ne was promoted to sergeant and recommended as lieuten ant He is also a charter member of Post No. 10, American Leeion.
