The Express says that the roads leading out of Vernal to the south have been well traveled during the past three days and the travel is still increasing. People on horse back, in bug gies, wagons and some on foot, all headed south, are seen from daylight until noon, and on the return trip from sundown until the middle of the night. The scene of the excitement is on the lower end of the cedar ridge about eight miles south and half mile east of Vernal, where some exceedingly rich float assaying as high as $300 in gold has been AND BULLION. JOHN MAHAN, Oregog Short Liue cash-buyin- g PRICES Unlisted Stock) Listed Stocks. -- The operations this week are not materially different from those of last week. There were two days of unusual activity but on an average there was little change in activity or sales. The product of the week was a little short of the week before. On Wednesday Mercur was in good demand and advanced to $7.25 in the bidding. Bullion-Beck- , upon the strength of rumors that its dividend was in doubt, weakened and went down to $8.50, at which figure it was an offering. The Centennial-Eurek- a sold as low as $48.00 at the beginning of the week and found ready takers in Henry Perry and E. G. Woolley. It is but a short time since the company was offered $100 a share for the stock, and ' why it should have fallen to the figure at which it was drawn in a week ago, the brokers are unable to explain. Sunshine continued on the downward course upon which it started with the opening of the week and sold as low as 30 cents a share, Hudson picking up a lot of 500 at that figure. Reports from all the camps are very encouraging, and with the advent of genuine spring weather there will be plenty of mining life in every direction. KECOHD 1, 1897.
