Show THE ARGUS. The Nephi Republic publishes the gossip that the city marshal of Ne-parrested a man for being drunk and disturbing the peace, and when the prisoner was yanked before the justice he was found to be deaf and dumb. hi Concerning the killing of McClena-ha- n by Arthur Nelson at Salina last week, the Press says : This tragedy is one of the most dreadful that ever occurred in Salina. Arthur Nelson has always borne a good reputation ; quiet and reserved, he has never figured in any sort of trouble. Of course he feels keenly the awfulness of his deed, but not a soul in town, so far as we can learn, censures him. He is not much of a man who will not defend his own home. . The tragedy at Salina Tuesday evening was a most revoiting occurrence, with the result that now one mans lips are sealed in the grasp of death and his soul ushered into another sphere, while another remains here below with hands dyed red with the blood of a fellow being. It seems like murdering angels are let loose, and that they simply whisper death and destruction as an accompaniament of every grievance and assumed provocation. To snatch a gun and send a leaden missel on a message of death and hurl a creature into the presence of his Maker seems now to be the first impulse. These things are becoming of too frequent occurrence. The Manti Messenger says: Taking seriously a suggestion thrown out by The Abgus some time asks for a law ago, the Ogden requiring newspapers to publish the names of all who patronize poker Editor joints and bawdy houses. Smith says he can give names galore if protected. We will promise to startle the upper fen each week ; yes, we will take the job of closing overy house in the city, of the kind mentioned, if the law will only protect us, and we will only publish facts as we know them and can prove them. Such houses would not run if people did not go there; people would not go there if they knew their names would appear in print the next week. It is a shame that a fallen girl is cast out, while the villain who first wronged her goes in the upper ten society and is respected by every one. It is another shame that some of the most respected women, and even girls in their teens, frequent houses of questionable repute in company of the opposite gender at all hours of the night.
