Show MAKING VOTES FOR BAMBERGER i (In The Interest of Fair Play Ed.) The Ogdon Standard-Examiner the past week has been circulated f roo of charge in this city nightly, and wo suppose in evcry other littlo city and town in the State, with tho purpose of trying to turn a few votes from Ernest Bamberger, Republican Candidate for United States Senator, Sen-ator, but from tho expressions heard, they are making votes for him every issue. This is true in American Fork and Pleasant Grove, and wo believe the election next Tuesday will show tho safuo condition throughout tho State, for tho fair minded people of Utah will not Btand for such bombastic campaigning from a few soreheads who lost out in tho State Republican Convention, nnd who were not big enough to take their defeat gracofully. Many of our citizens will remember how they wore approached months before tho State Convention by Salt Lako and Ogdcn would-be-politicians who woro working for tho candidacy of Mr. "Wattis, and who tried in every way to pledgo them to pack tho various primaries and elect delegates favorablo to Mr. Wattis. Their scheme partly failed hero they got two Wattis delegates and tho others were unpledged, and it was about tho same way in Pleasant Grove. Now because theso unpledged delegates here and throughout tho Stnto, failed to support Mr. Wattis, they were bought or steam rolled, according to tho Ogdcn Standard's editor, who was ono of Mr. Wattis' strongest champions months before tho Stnto Convention, and who hns never forgiven tho large majority of delegates who refused to bo dictated to by the Ogden delegation nnd a fow other Wattis workers. In its opening nrticlo ngninst Mr. Bnmborgor tho Ogdon Og-don Standard-Examiner says: "Not because ot race, religion, political faith or that ho Is not a pretty fair minded upright youns man In himself, hut h'ocauso ho has been mado tho candidate of a political machine" All would have been well if Mr. Wattis had won tho nomination expected by tho Ogdon Standard political machine otherwise it is an attempt to rulo or ruin and this is tho real causo of tho robollion by tho Ogden paper. Yes, tho Standard-Examiner's nrticles aro showing tho pcoplo of Utnh why Ernest Bamberger should bo olcot-ed olcot-ed United States Senator from Utah better than a great deal of political advertisements or political rallies held throughout tho State.
