Colby Smith Colby Thomas Smith, age 19, has been called to serve in the Mississippi Jackson LDS Mission. He is the son of Geralee Smith of Lehi and Thomas W. Smith of Taylorsville. He spoke in the Sego Lily Ward on February 11,2007. Colby entered the Missionary Training Center February 21, 2007. Matthew Pockrus Matthew Philip Pockrus. son of Carl and Phyllis Pockrus of American Fork, received his Eagle Scout award November 25, 2006, on his 14th birthday, in a Court of honor. He is a member of Troop 824, sponsored by American Fork 16th Ward of the American Fork West Stake. For his Eagle service project, he and several volunteers cleaned the wetlands surrounding surround-ing the Meadows shopping center in American Fork. He wishes to express his gratitude to all who helped with the project, as well as leaders, friends and family who helped him achieve the rank of Eagle. He is in the 8th grade at American Fork Jr. High. He is a 4.0 student with a love for music. He plays piano for Beginning Jazz Band, bassoon for AFJH Wind Ensemble and will be playing clarinet clar-inet for AFHS Marching Band. Rachael Williams The Young Woman Recognition Recogni-tion Award will be presented to Rachael Ann Williams, Wednesday, Wednes-day, February 28, during the Creekside Ward New Beginnings program. Rachael turned 16 on February 2, 2007 and is now a Laurel in the Creekside Ward, Alpine Al-pine West Stake in Alpine, UT. For one of her projects, Rachael helped gather family histories, letters, let-ters, photos and other documents and then helped typed, print and organize the information into a book that was compiled and given out to family members at a family fam-ily reunion on the George Sidney Kunz line June 2005, in honor of his 100th birthday. In October, 2006, Rachael planned and organized a stake YW fireside with special guest speaker and LDS songwriter Mindy GtedhilL Rachael worked directly with Mindy in correlating times, programs and presentation. Rachael also took part in both the Alpine 5th Ward trek to Martin's Cove and the Alpine West Stake trek. Rachael is the daughter of Phillip Grant and Annie Williams of Alpine. Her parents are very proud of her efforts and her valiant val-iant testimony of the Savior and His gospel. Riley Anderson, Hayes Anderson Hayes Anderson son of Scott and Marlece and Riley Anderson son of Clay and Kelly Anderson Ander-son were awarded Eagle Scout Awards on February 3, 2007. Hayes, who is 14 years old, completed his Eagle project at the Lehi Rodeo Grounds, installing new pens for moving stock efficiently effi-ciently through the chutes. Riley, who is 15 years old, also did his project at the Rodeo Grounds, painting a new ticket booth and some gates. Both young men are honor roll students at Willow Creek Middle School. Avera was born March 2,1912 in Farnum, Idaho. Ida-ho. Her family moved to Francis, Utah when she was eight years old. They later moved to Orem in the old Windsor Ward area. She is currently living in the Beehive Home at 67 W. 1200 North in Orem, a few blocks west of where she spent much of her youth, Avera spent her professional career teaching at Franklin Elementary El-ementary in Provo, Windsor Elementary in Orem, Shelley Elementary in American Fork and Grovecrest Elementary in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove.
