Show Lehi High School to Present "South Pacific' First Performance Tonight "South Pacific' the rollicking, rough musical of life on a U. S. Navy base in the South Pacific during World War II, will be presented pre-sented by the Lehi High School tonight, tomorrow and Saturday (March 14, 15 and 16). Curtain time will be 7:30 p.m. each evening, eve-ning, with a pre-show "South Sea Fantasy" beginning at 7p.m. Tickets for the production are still available for all performances perform-ances and may be purchased during dur-ing school hours from Mrs. Hazel Hakes at the school library. They will also be available at the ticket office prior to each performance. Smith and Paul J. Halversen, the cast is beaded by Claudia Ingram as the "girl next door," nurse Nellie Forbush; Emile de Becque, performed per-formed by Scott Beal; Bloody Mary, played by Madge Fowler; and Lt. Joseph Cable, played by Jay Hard man. Liat, Bloody Mary's daughter, is played by Brenda Gran?; and Luther Billis, the camp con man, is portrayed by Bert Wilson. Base commander Capt. George Brackett is played by Stan Lewis; and his sidekick, side-kick, Commander William Harbison Har-bison is portrayed by Craig Hunt. Others in the cast include Char-lene Char-lene Messersmith and Andrew Smith, who play the children of Emile de Becque; Dennis Bridges, Brid-ges, Vern Carson, Allan Hadfield, Merrill Higginson, Dave Beal, Danny Curtis, Lenard Wing, Lane S wens on, Gary Burgess, Ken Chamberlain, Joe Colledge, tu-gene tu-gene Hadfield, Steve Leany, Robert Rob-ert Worlton, John Bushman and Gary Cooper. Nurses are played by Gail Skinner, Kathleen Gold-ing, Gold-ing, Connie Beverly, Judy South-wick, South-wick, Sharolyn Peterson, Sharon Harris, Becky Peterson, Ruth Gray, Annette Jenkins, Linda Larsen, Rosely Ray and Vicki Chruma. French people are played play-ed by Stephen Smith, Marie Beal and Kay Lynn Ernst. Sailors Include In-clude Scott Chivers, Brent Det-tmar, Det-tmar, Ned Lehmberg, Alan Colledge Col-ledge and Michael Curtis. Islanders Island-ers are Nancy Cook, Christine Bernal, Winnifred Grant, Kathy Hunt, Debbie Ault, Wendy Dubois, MarleneCook, Barbara Peterson, Peter-son, Esther Hutchings, Marie Romrell, Laralee Kirkham, De-nise De-nise Bair, J anna Sherwood, Deb-ra Deb-ra Carter, Julianne Robinson, Mary Ann Phillips, Joan Carson, Kathy Elton, Diane Davenport and Lola Terry. Lonnie Evans is serving as Assistant Director and Michael Carson is accompanist. Orchestra Orches-tra members include Mrs. Connie Smith, Mrs. Edna Loveridge, Mrs. Rose Hinton, and Ann Bla-mires, Bla-mires, violins; Charlene Bla-mires Bla-mires and Connie Smith, viola; Mrs. Verda Searle, cello; Mrs. Faye Godfrey andNormanSchow, bass; Mary Searle and Sherrie Cossey, flutes; Marvin Smith and Kenneth Hakes, clarinets; Blain Carson, bassoon; Craig Roberts, David Llnd and Kenneth Schow, trumpets; Hugh Johnson and David Dav-id Brems, trombones; Mark Peterson, tuba; and Perry Higginson Hig-ginson and Joan Christofferson, percussion. Dr. Lars Jenkins has assisted with Technical problems and props have been made by Mr. Smith's and Mrs. Halversen' s classes, Dr. Glenn and Mrs. Vervene Grant. Assisting Mer-rilyn Mer-rilyn Chilton on the costume committee have been Davis Peterson, Cyndie Netl, Loraine Doyle, Alyson Evans, Jayleen Smuin, with Mrs. Barbara E. Hunter and Mrs. Katherine S. Hardy. A special thanks is extended by the directors to the many townspeople who have assisted with the production - both in the contribution of costumes, in time spent in working on sets and scenery, scen-ery, in helping the students with French, with their dances, hair styles and military manners, and in any other way. Without this help the production could not have been accomplished. Into each life some rain must fall.
