Latona Music Club Elects New Officers Nineteen members of the Latona La-tona Music Club attended a dinner din-ner party on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Duncan Manor. The affair w. In observance of the twenty- third anniversary of the club. The group sang "Happy Birth day," following which Mrs. Vane Provost gave the club collect and Mrs. Joseph Mech am sang two voeal solos. "Love Is Here My Heart," and "Somewhere aVoice is Calling.' She was accompan ied by Mrs. Kenneth McDonald. The serving table was beau tifully decorated in red carna tions and Valentine motiffs. Mrs. Mllo Bean offered the prayer and blessing on the food. Following dinner the group en joyed a short program. Mrs. Mable Smith gave a humorous reading, "Dieting to Lose Weight." Mrs. Kenneth McDon ald gave a toast to the presi dent, Mrs. Don Tree, and pre sented her with a gift. Mrs. Claude Snyder pinned her with a past president's pin. Mrs. Rulon Winters gave toast to Miss Ora Jean Chip- man, secretary, and also pre sented her with a gift. Elections for new officers was held With the following officers elected to serve for the coming com-ing year; Mrs. Wilson Ritchie, president; Mrs. Vane Provost, vice president; Mrs. Mllo Bean, treasurer; Mrs. Ralph Smith, secretary and Mrs. Frances Pulley, Pul-ley, reporter. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Claude Snyder and Mrs. Kalph Smith. Highland Ward To Hold Gold, Green Ball Sat. Highland Ward will present their annual Gold and Green Ball on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 8:00 p.m. Music for the dance will be provided by Paul Cochrane and orchestra. Directing the affair af-fair is Eyvonne Black. A floor show at 9:00 p.m. will feature "Tinlkling" directed by John and Janene Iverson who will also be in charge of the "Square Dance.' Vicki Inouye will direct di-rect the Girls Dance and Bill C;'.er will be in charge of a dance. The theme song will be presented pre-sented by a mixed quartet under the direction of Christine Griffiths. Grif-fiths. Girls to be honored are Dar-lene Dar-lene Nielson and Dawna Bishop. Flower girls are Joyce Jensen and Tammy Allman. In charge of the decorations are Kris Zimmerman, John Tol-man, Tol-man, Brian Noble, Kim Stras-burg, Stras-burg, Dee Strasburg, Leon White, Irene Croft, and the Laurel and Ensign classes. Marilyn Bringhurst is in charge of the program and Irene Croft and Dee Strasburg are in charge of the publicity. Alpine Stake M-Men, Gleaners To Held Bazaar The Alpine Stake M-Men and Gleaners will hold a Bazaar on Thursday, February 29, at 7 p.m. in the Fourth Ward Church. Included in the bazaar are all kinds of hand-made articles, baked ba-ked goods and a Grab Bag table with a multitude of surprises. All townspeople of American Fork and surrounding communities commun-ities are invited to attend the bazaar. Officiating at the service was President Selvoy Boyer. Later the same evening the couple were feted at a wedding reception held at Vernal, Utah hosted by the parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Robbins. On Saturday, February 17, they were further honored at the Highland High-land Ward Church by the parents of the groom, Mr. andMrs. Merlin Mer-lin Larson. The bride greeted her guests dressed in a beautiful sculptured white velvet gown trimmed in white fur. The fur edged the bell sleeves, panels down the front of the gown and encircled the chapel train. Her veil of sheer illusion was caught to a circlet of white fur and she carried a cascading arrangement consisting consist-ing of a white orchid surrounded surround-ed by red carnations. Attending the bride was Joyce Wilkens, sister of the bride, maid of honor; and Pauline Cun-dick, Cun-dick, Karen Larson, Br enda Robbins, Rob-bins, Diana Billings, Chris Alexander, Alex-ander, Tracy Wilken, and Beth Larson. They wore identical floor-length dresses of red velvet vel-vet and each held a white fur muff. Both the mother of the bride and the groom wore red crepe floor-lenth dresses and each was pinned with a white split-carnation corsage. Performing the duties of best man was Michaei L. Larsen, brother of the groom. Ushers were Clyde Wilkens, John Robins. In charge of the serving was Judy Busk, Irene Croft, Susan Black, Patty Christiansen, Susan Larson and Vicky Warenski. Receiving at the dour was Mr. and Mrs. John Zanni, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Erekson. Mrs. Leslie Les-lie Long and Mrs. Richard Reis-ner Reis-ner were in charge of the gifts. Larsen of American Fork, local associate of the Salt Lake City Agency of The Paul Revere Life Insurance Company, has been cited as a national sales leader in a companywide competition compe-tition supporting the U. S. Olympic Olym-pic program. A donation to the U. S. Olympic Olym-pic Fund is being made in Mr. Larsen' s name as a result of his sales record. The Olympic donation program was designed to increase interest and support in the U. S. Olympic team among the company's 1000 representatives. representa-tives. Mr. Larsen joined the Worcester, Worces-ter, Mass. company in 1962 and is active in local fraternal and civic affairs. Census to Get '67 Employment Figures A selected sample of households house-holds in this area will be asked questions about their employment during 1967 as part of the February Feb-ruary Current Population Survey conducted by the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of the Census, according to Francis H, Wilmer, Director of the Bureau's Regional Office in Denver. The 1967 survey questions will be aimed at finding out the number of weeks worked during the year, the amount of time lost because of unemployment and other reasons, and the job held the longest time during the year by each person over 14 years of age in sample households. The Current Population Survey Sur-vey is iakea each month from a representative sample of households house-holds in 449 areas throughout the United States chiefly to obtain national estimates of current employment em-ployment and unemployment. Rotary Club Entertain Wives At Valentine Party The American Fork Rotary Club and their partners held a dinner and party at the Alpine Country Club on Tuesday, February Feb-ruary 13. Chairman of the com-mittee com-mittee for arrangements was Mackey Boley. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Chipman were in charge of the lovely decorations. A new member to the club, Dr. Don Roper received his Rotary pin. Carl Young served as master mas-ter of ceremonies. Walley Williams, who presented present-ed the program for the evening played music on the piano during the dinner. He is a graduate of the University of Utah and has. been nine years with the Utah Symphony Orchestra. He presented pre-sented a talk on music, what is being played today and the music of the past. He again entertained entertain-ed on the piano. Mr. Williams has also been associated for 35 years with a dance band. He teaches music and is one of very few people born with perfect pitch. Fork Women's Club Aid in Rubinoff Concert The American Fork Rotary Club expressed deep appreciation apprecia-tion to the Women's Clubs of the community for their assistance in the ticket sales for the Rubinoff Rub-inoff Benefit Concert. The benefit bene-fit concert with proceeds going to the new American Fork Library Li-brary was sponsored by the Rotary Ro-tary Club. The Women's Club who through the Presidents' Council were asked to help with the ticket sales sold over $500 worth of tickets for the concert. Included in the clubs participating were the Arlitra Guild, Cultural Arts, Intermezzo, Junior Arlitra, Junior Jun-ior Ladies Literary, Ladies Literary, Lit-erary, Lady Lions Organization, Latona Music, Utacen, and Literary Liter-ary League.
