Nielsen, and 2mm 3c Jon R. Bell, who .were married Friday, December 27, in rites conducted by the Reverend Andrew S. Bailey, Bai-ley, in the Little Chapel in the West at Las Vegas. - The reception committee 'received 're-ceived before a flower bedecked mantle upon which a lovely arrangement ar-rangement of pink carnations and white snapdragons stood. The bride chose a gown of turquoise tur-quoise velvet with a white satin collar; the bodice-was sleeveless and featured a low neckline in the back. A lovely corsage of red roses and white gardenias added to the festlveness of her costume. , Mother of the bride chose a black sheath dress for her daughter's wedding and the groom's mother chose a dark silk print for the occasion The guest book was in the hands of Carol Julian; Katha leen Ramsay was in charge of the gifts; and Jeannie Griffiths helped with the serving. The young, couple spent thelc4and Mrs. Arthur Ditlevsen honeymoon in Southern Call fornia. Open ei)enings.by appointment , V Clubs and Socials Mrs. Lillian Booth reviewed her recent trip to 'Europe for members of the Ladles Literary Club, Friday at' the home of Mrs. Jesse M. Walker. Mrs. Booth visited most of the countries in Europe, among them England, Scotland, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, .. Holland, Denmark, Norway, permany, and Switzerland. She was presented to the Queen mother in England, Eng-land, where she attended the National Jubilee. She also saw Queen Elizabeth. The speaker related the comic aspects of her trip and told of attending a bull fight in Spain. She also visited many outstanding out-standing cathedrals and churches, church-es, saw the Pope in Rome, and went through the L.D.S. Temple in Berne, Switzerland. , Reprints , of pictures hanging in the art galleries in London and many lovely articles from Scotland and England were shown to the group by Mrs. Booth. She finished her address by reading the poem "Oh, America Amer-ica for Me," by Henry Van Dyke. ,Mrs. J. Aaron Ross assisted Mrs. Walker as hostess and Mrs. Don M..Northwood presided in the absence of Mrs. J. O. Chilton, club president, .who wished eevryone a happy and prosperous new year and read the pdem, "The More the Years." Motion was moved and carried that the project of rolling bandages f or the hospital be continued. The Club Collect was read by Mrs Ora Jean Chipman. Utacen Mrs. William Wright's home was" the scene of the Utacen Christmas Christ-mas party, held January 23. Assisting As-sisting Mrs. Wright as hostesses were Mrs. Clyde Birk, Mrs. Eva Skinner, Mrs. Wilbur Harding The home was beautifully deco rated in a holiday motif. Lee Buckwalter Elected President of , Cavalier Car Club The Cavaliers Automobile Club of American Fork held its annual election on January 2. The new officers include Lee Buckwalter, president; Ron Cur tis, vice president; Jerry Barr ratt, Sgt. at Arms. Mac Wagstaf f , treasurer; and Gary Bennett, secretary; were reelected. On December 26, 1957 two new members were voted into the club. They are George Thomas of Spanish Fork and Jerry Bar-ratt Bar-ratt of American Fork. Bruce Rogers was made, club reporter. New Mayor Awards Certificates to Survival Class Recently the American Fork Sportsmens' Association has been . sponsoring a Survival Training Course taught by Mr. Lee Robertson of the State Fish and Game Department. This course included safety in the home, in the mountains, mountain mount-ain climbing, skiing, boating, and gun safety. The object of this course was not only for the students Information but to qualify the students to teach Oun Safety courses to youngsters young-sters under the N.R.A. rules. The course lasted for 12 -weeks and Friday' evening, January 3,' 1958 the examination for N.R.A. qualification qual-ification of Teachers certificates were, given. The certificates were given by the newly, elected mayor of American Fork, Glen Anderson, who told those present pres-ent that he congratulated them for giving of their time and energies en-ergies to Improve themselves so that they might help the youngsters young-sters of the town and in doing so, improve the entire community. com-munity.
