Chapter 47, Section 496, American Fork City Ordinances, Ordin-ances, all hedges and obstruction on corners of streets within the city must be cut to not more than three feet In height for 30 feet back from the corner. This ordinance was passed as a safety measure, and 10 days from this date will be enforced by order of American Fork City Council. J. J. Mercer Chief of Police FAMILY REUNIONS Beck Family Descendants of Stepnen, Christian Chris-tian and Frederick Beck and Lucy Beck Berglund will meet for their ajuiual reunion In the Alpine Ward recreation hall and park Saturday afternoon, according ac-cording to Kenneth J. Beck, president. The program calls for games at 4 p. m., picnic at 5 p. m., and a short snappy meeting at 7 p. m. Drinks and watermelon will be furnished. All members are urged to bring their families and attend. Assisting the president are Thayne Bateman, Alpine, vice president; Ardena Beck, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove, secretary-treasurer; Theron P. Beck, genealogist, and Stephen P. Beck, historian. Jonas Johnson Family - ! Descendants of Jonas Johnson will gather Saturday Aug. 25, in Rotary Park for their annual reunion, according to Alfred Johnson, organization president. All are asked to come at 4 p. m, for swimming and visiting. Each family will provide its own supper sup-per but ice cream and drinks will be furnished. There will be a program at 7 p, m. Formers to Elect 1957 Agricultural Committee Of interest to the farmers of American Fork, Highland and Alpine will be the coming election elec-tion of community committeemen, committee-men, to administer the 1957 agricultural ag-ricultural stabilization and conservation con-servation program. Ballots for this election will be mailed to all farmers in the -area on August 30, 1956. The nominating committee, composed of Vera Holindrake, Wilson Welsh and George Graff, have met and nominated the following persons on the ballot: Claude Hunting , Marion Green, Stanley Burch, Clare Cruistenseft, Vera Holindrake, George E. Griff, Wilson Welsh, Van Vance, David Strasburg and Darrell Proctor. " Any' person desiring to add names to this list may do so by presenting a signed petition by ten farmers who operate land in this community. Swim and bive Contest Held At New AF Pool Miss Linda Andersen, daugh ter of Dr. and Mrs. C. R. An dersen, won the title "Miss Swim and Dive" queen Thursday night when the contest was held at the new American Fprk swim ming pool. In second place was Miss Joyce Holllen. dauirhter of Mr and Mrs. Jack Holllen, and Miss Norma Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Robinson, took the third spot, and were made attendants to Queen Linda. Lin-da. The three girls will appfar on a noat in the Steel Day par aae. As additional honors the queen was presented with a new bathing suit from Devey'a and Barratt Builders and O. P. Skaggs gave beach coats to the attendants. Belva'i Beauty Shop gave certificates for a personal ity hair styling to all the con testants.
