State Relays In the Utah High School Activities Act-ivities Association relays held at the BYU Saturday, American Fork took fourth place in the quarter mile with Harold Behold, Beho-ld, Ouy Humphries. Boyd Hog-lund Hog-lund and Jerry Chadwlck form ing the team. In the sprint medley American Fork was second. In the running were Harold Scholes, Olen Courier, Cou-rier, Don Carlisle and Kent Day. BYU Inviting Western States To Spring Meet Annual Invitational ten n 1 tournament, track and relay car nival sponsored by the Brig ham Young University will get under way today when the tennis tour nament is held. An invitation has teen extended to schools in all the. western states. PROVO RIVER FISH LAW-CLARIFIED - Among the angling to open on May 2 is a portion, of the lower Provo River-and there seems- to be some confusion as to Just what is open. Irish and' Game Department spokesmen said Monday that the river and all its drainage below the Murdock diversion dam win be open May 2. The Murdock di version dam is about a mile ab ove the mouth of the canyon just east of the city of Orem. Snapdragons were used as a centerpiece, ' place cards were a white block A mounted with a small red basketball, and each of the team was presented with a gift. ' Following dinner some of the boys' fathers appeared and put on a skit, -.They were Francis B Abel, Wilson Cunningham,' Fay Chadwlck,' Joseph Hoglund, Owen O. Humphries and T. J. Turner, with Mrs. Humphries as accom panlst. Mrs. Junior N. William son gave a reading and proposed a .toast to. the team, and .Mrs. Robert O. Smith and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Francom entertained with vocal duets. Strang who will place It on the public library shelves, and reported that 10 copies of the book had been presented to the high school. ' It is truly a pleasure to read all the good old home town news.. I look forward each week to its coming and think you are doing a very fine thing in sending the paper to the people away from home, especially those in the armed forces. It is truly a morale builder. The point of my writing, besides be-sides thanking you. Is to. tell you that lately I have been receiving two copies, one addressed to the old outfit and the other to my present address. . There hasnt been much happen of late, other than the regular routine. However, last March 31, our outfit went to Frankfurt for a ceremony for the USAREUR commanding general, gen-eral, Lieut Oen. Eddy who retired retir-ed from the army that day. ' As you know, I sm In an honor guard outfit and we were chosen to represent - the army honor guard. There was also a navy honor guard and an air force honor guard there. Oen. Eddy Inspected the honor guards and 6000 other troops passed In review for him. I felt It a privilege to do this and will always remember the experience. On April 1 we were back in Stuttgart where I took part in a -similar ceremony when Lieut. Oen Bolte turned over his command com-mand of the 7th army to Lieut. Oen. Hoge. Oen. Bolte replaced Oen. Eddy of his command of USAREUR. It was truly a pleasure pleas-ure and privilege to have taken a small pari in these ceremonies. Thank you very much for the Citizen.
