A., indicates a heavier infestation infesta-tion of tomato' frultworm this year than any year since 1941. . Present Indications are that from 5 to 10 percent of the fruit will be Infested ;, y ,,- : . Many eggs are now present on the- tomato plants., These will soon hatch into worms that will burrow into the fruit. , ' It is suggested that the toma toes be dusted within the next week, using either calcium ar senate or cryolite. The dust should be applied at the rate of 25 to 30. ppunds per acre. A second application should be made two weeks after the first.
