Coates. Their home Is In Oakland, California. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Ivle and family fam-ily of Huntsrule were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Ashby, Sunday and Monday. Mrs. Warren Boley and Mrs. Em ma O. Anderson left Saturday on a vacation trip to California. They will stop for some time at Huntington Hunting-ton Parle to visit Mrs. Anderson's son, Malan. They expect to return this week-end. The Ladles Literary club will meet today (Friday) at the home of Mrs. Joseph Nicholes. Mrs. Nlcholes, Mrs. Elizabeth Greene and Mrs. John Myers are the hostesses. Mrs. David L. Grant and two sons. Morris and Paul, came here Sunday and are visiting at the home of Mr and Mrs. T. A. Greenwood Junior Girls and Explorers of the Second ward enjoyed an Interesting trip to the Griffin Bakery Tuesday nleht. LeRoy R- Griffin, Explorer leader, showed the group through the bakery kitchen and explained the processes of making bread and pastries. While they were there he made a batch of doughnuts and served them to the guests. Honoring Mrs. Ella Martin's seventieth sev-entieth birthday, Mrs Martin's daughter, Mrs. Willard Cleghorn, entertained at a birthday dinner Sunday. Dinner was served at 6 o'clock, at a beautifully-arranged table centered with a birthday cake decorated with seventy candles. Covers were laid for Mrs. Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Martin and family of Magna, Mr.- and Mrs. Cal Martin and son of Garfield, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bateman and family fam-ily of Alpine, Miss Louise Hayward of American Fork, and the Hay-ward Hay-ward family. Mrs. Lillian K. Brown has returned re-turned home after spending two weeks In Salt Lake City at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John B. 8mith. Mrs. Brown has been ill, but Is now greatly Improved. Mrs.' Jesse M- Walker, Relief society so-ciety president of Alpine stake, attended at-tended the Presidents' Breakfast given at the Hotel Utah Prlday morning. The affair was In con nection with the Relief society conference con-ference at Salt Lake City. Webb K. Brown, bishop of the San Bernardino. California, ward came to Utah for the general con ference of the L D. S. church. While here he visited his mother, Mrs Lillian K. Brown, and other rela tives.
