Manila 4-H Club Have Creditable Showing Show-ing At State Fair The Manila 4-H Club had a very creditable showing at the State Fair. The cooking club won third place In their group exhibit. Helen Warnlck won third place In individual canning contest, for second year Fruit Club girls. Beth Wadley won fourth place in the same contest. Fruit canned In the group exhibit ex-hibit Is to be sent to Chicago to compete In the Hazel Atlas Contest. Con-test. Charles Warnlck's heifer calf won first place In club calves, under un-der 1 year old. George Warnick's' calf received third place under two years, and second place under three years old. Windsor Ward Sunshine Committee Entertain Stake Sunshine Workers The Windsor Ward Sunshine Committee of the Relief Society entertained at a social Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Jennie Harris. The committee In charge of the affair were: Mrs. Blanche Nielsen, Mrs. Jennie Harris and Mrs. Rose Shoell. The afternoon was spent In a program and pimes. The purpose of the meeting was to get acquainted with all Sunshine workers of the stake. A dainty lap lunch was served to the following; Sunshine workers of the stake: Ella M. Cragun, Jennie W. Johnson, Martha T. Keetch, Sylvia Morby, Emma Harper, Annie Holman, Hazel Spencer, Maggie Johnson, Edith Monson, Margaret Shoell. Luella Stelner, Elnora Peterson, Margaret Chrlstensen. Emily Jensen, Emma Johnson arid Junet Smith. The Y. U M. I. A. will assist with the setting of tAbles and serving the food. The Y. M. M. I. A. and Y. L. M. L A. will at-U the tickets for the dinner. People who do not live In the ward and who desire to at tend will be made welcome. Their' .patronage will be appreciated. The proceede of this banquet will go to the meeting house fund to assist in the Installation of the . heating and lighting equipment. Linebaugh and son, Kale, Exhibits Stock At State Fair Dr. B. C. Linebaugh exhibited n'nc head of stock at the State Fa'r. Ray Pulley took care of the animals while on display there. Kale did very well with his three head but the large stock display from other states captured many of the best prizes. A fast run was made to the home of Melvln Grant. Mr. Grant was returning home from Salt Lake and the back firing of his engine set the car on fire. A call was made to the fire department, de-partment, but the fire was almost extinguished before they arrived. It was a test of efflcency of the department both In response to call and In time used in reaching the fire. The first year the I county commissioners appointed the .town board. There have been two elections which made the vote un-I un-I anmious except one member. The teachers of these schools will take the school census on Wednesday Wednes-day and Thursduy. Teachers Institute In-stitute at Salt Laks will begin Thursday evening and continue PrWay and Saturday. All teachers will attend the institute. The grade schools close Thursday Thurs-day noon so that the teachers can attend Institute. Parents who need their children for fall harvesting should avail themselves of this opportunity op-portunity to get the help from their children. Mechanic Arts Teacher i Has Painful Accident Mr. Partington, Instructor In Mechanic Arts at the Pleasant Crove High School, had the misfortune mis-fortune to get the three first fingers of the right hand Into one of the electric saws, Monday afternoon. after-noon. The two first fingers were entirely severed and had to be taken off at the first joint. T,he third finger was sewed on again. The accident occurred at the last class In the afternoon.
