A. Anderson, Scout Executive of the Timpanogos District Dis-trict Council, who in attendance. These felicitations indicate that good feelings prevail among the boys and the boy workers of the world who are banded together for a common good. It would seem impossible that boys who are brought up through a program such as that which, is carried on by the Boy Scout movement could "in after years throw themselves at each other's throatts as the nationalities of the world have done in times past. 0 It seems reasonable to suppose that a program universally carried out would break down national prejudices and would draw the people of the world together in a bond of understanding that would have great weight in eliminating war. Instead, therefore, of Scouting being militaristic in its attitude, it is anti-militaristic in the very broadest sense. !Ll'flcQuL pro gram,-orany-prog together in such a way as to make them Christian in their attitude toward each other, then surely that program is worth supporting. Should You Support The Roy Scout Movement With Your Good Dollars! That is a good question to ask yourself. If you are not well acquainted with the Boy Scout program and witth what that program has done for the boys of America, then let men who do know help you reach a conclusion. Here is what a few have said: "Scout leadership is a national duty." William Howard Taft. " Anvthimr that in the effectiveness of the Boy Scouts of America, will be a genuine contribution con-tribution to the welfare of the nation." Woodrow AVilson. "I am with the Boy Scout movement heart and soul. It is an organization teaching the spirit of service and honor which we must always have in our citizenship." Warren G. Harding.. "After fifteen years of juvenile work I say without question, that if you give the Boy Scout movement the moral and financial support sup-port it rightfully demands the juvenile court will no longer be needed." need-ed." Judge Ben B. Lindsay. Some one has attempted to say what Scouting is in a few words: "Scouting is a process of making real men out of real boys by a real program which works. "Scouting is outdoor life, and therefore, strength, happiness, and practical education. By- combining wholesome, outdoor activities activit-ies with the influence of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law, the program pro-gram develops character. "It develops the power of initiative and resourcefulness " ' i "It trains for leadership."
