Prixe A number of candidates from Utah for the American Youth Award and American Teacher Award at the Sesqui-Centennlal of the signing of the Declaration of Independence at Philadelphia have been registered at the headquarters of the International exposition. Miss' Hermese Peterson of this city teaching at tfie B. Y. U. is working for the American Teacher Award. She has had twenty-four years experience in Utah schools and is sponsored by Senator Reed Smoot and President Presi-dent Franklyn S. Harris of the B. Y. U. The awards will- be given under the direction of a state committee com-mittee of which Governor George H. Dern is honorary chairman and Mayor C. Clarence Neslen is active chairman. chair-man.
