Will Sheep Be Removed From State Highway This Spring? Farmers and business men of the cities in the north end of Utah county nave decussed ior some decussed 'tor time the possibility of changing the sheep from the state Highway to a road removed from so much traffic. In fact the selected route has been made and partly approved by the county commissioners. Now why the delay? The season for removing the sheep from "their winter home to their summer range In the mountains will soon be here sod if (his question still slides along pa it has thus far the conjested condition of tho state highway will bo the same as lu several years past.- . People in automobiles are compelled compell-ed to travel in a thick ill-smelling cloud of dust at such a slow speed to prevent pre-vent accidents that they are wondering--why this Inconvenience In tolerated. toler-ated. Petition after petition have been sent to the county commissioners commission-ers and to the state road commission has been done, It appears. The sheep are in constant Jeopardy from cars and many afekllled by autolsts. Last year one herd of. sheep remained on Llndon hill during the nlrht and early the next morning several sheep were found dead on the highway and in several other Instances In-stances the same condition is report ed. It Is not necessary to convince the public of this change nor is It necessary to convince the county com missioners. The trouble now seems to be In some fencing that will have to be done and a few road repairs. Conservative men estimate that the loss of sheep through accident and the nuisance to the traffic more than over balances the money necessary to get the new road ready for the trans fer of the sheep when spring cosies. This matter Is being taken up by the different commercial clubs of the county. It will be brought to the at tention of the State Road Commission ana Governor Dern in the near future. o .
