Service 8tar Legion and for this reason, the local chapter aa .requested the following explanation: ' The Service Star Legion, Inc., Is a National Organisation of the women relatives of the men 'and women ot the World War. During the dark days of 1117-11 the women of our country banded themselves together In groups to show their love for their country to give' service and help In every way possible. So general was this spontaneous spon-taneous grouping all over the United States under various names that la gejtember, 118, one of the groups called a convention In EvansvUIa, Indiana, and formed a national organ luktlosuknowa as the War Mothers of America. The following year another convention was held with Increased representation and the Service Star Legion was formed. Chapters of the national organisation were fprmed all over the United States. The Service Star Legion Is non- sectarian and non-political.
