Mr. Ulnrko will foiward his bonds In a few days, and when thoy are accepted his commission commis-sion will bo forwarded from Washington. Washing-ton. Tho appointment of Mr Claik has been a foregone conclusion for the past jear and a half, ever since lie was unanimously endoiscd by tho local precinct and city Democratic committees. Ills opponent at that time was J. W. Storrs, who arter being defeated in the committee endorsed Mr. tlnrkir Mr. Claiku has been a coiislstaut Democrat all his life, lnuing served on the city pieciuct, county and state committees. Ho has held many local political positions, having tilled with credit the positions of school tiusteg, rllj couurllmau and mayor. He will retain Miss l.on lliomley as his assistant in the olllce.
