Show ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS A new studentbody council was elected last Monday at Groveerest School to serve for the" month of May. Elected were: Linda Miller, president; Shann Lee Jensen, vice president; Helen Leonhardt, secretary; sec-retary; Dennis Brooks, treasurer; ad.' Carolyn Hansen, Marja Culli-more, Culli-more, Lee Rae Taylor, Betty Christiansen, Chris-tiansen, Gwen White, and Susan Harris, class representatives. ESN May Day activities were enjoyed by the- students of Groveerest School on Wednesday, May 1. ESN Tonight, 'Thursday May 2, a danoe festival will be held at Groveerest School. Dance Director Direc-tor Earl A. Beck will direct the students in a series of folk, social and square dance routines. Parents Par-ents are cordially invited. The festival fes-tival will begin at 7:30 p.m. ESN At a special faculty meeting hekl at Groveerest School Monday night, a study was made of the new state Elementaiy School curriculum. curricul-um. Others who attended the meeting and offered suggestions were Board Member Niels Fugal, Mayor Edward C. Roberts and parents par-ents Mrs. Alex Wadley, Mrs. Dar-rell Dar-rell Hansen and Mrs. Gordon Walker. ESN On Friday, May 3, the newly-elected newly-elected and former PTA officers of Groveerest School will attend-the attend-the Regional Convention of the Utah PTA Council. The conclave will be held in the new Provo High School. Dr. Harry Overstreet and his wife, Bonaro will be the featured featur-ed speakers. ESN The combined Fcurth Grade students stu-dents of Central School entertained entertain-ed their parents with a program Wednesday evening, May 1. Theme of the evening was "Utah" and the numbers presented1 were the outgrowth of ithe Sooial Science studies during the year. Teachers who assisted the students stu-dents were Kenneth. Ludlow, Don Hansen and Allen Houston. ESN May Day will be celebrated at Central School on Thursday, May 2. Morning activities will include braiding the Maypole and Grade grdjup dancing. After lunch served at the school lunch room, games andl other spring activities will be enjoyed. The PTA will sell refreshments. |
