V V - - cr IHr ? r . l pT"! r- Civic Club ma Local art enthusiasts and xens interested in the art of the community braved icy winds to attend the annual Civic Improvement clubs held on Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Central school Art Center. Paintings will be left on display for the remainder of Art Month, so that persons missing the showing may view them. Included besides the paintings in the display were wood carvings, ceramics, leatherwork, and an exhibit of sculpture by Avard Fairbanks. to art in the local community. She has helped to inspire local artists and founded the art show, as well as the civic art center at Central school. At present, she is serving as county chairman for Art Month during November. Mrs. Clyde Glover, Civic Improvement club president, introduced Mrs. Dunn and displayed a portrait and tribute of the local woman at the entrance of the art show. Also included on the program was the presentation of a lovely water color painting to the civic center. Projects for the bazaar should be turned in to the chairmen by Wednesday, Nov. 29, while baked goods will be received until 10:30 a. m. on Friday, Dec. 1. Stevens, who lauded Mrs. Thorne Dunn on her contribution to art on a county-wid- e basis.
