" McCormick, tell in the South Irrlga- tion Canal this morning and was drowned. The mother missed him about nine oclock' and immediately began to search. The following lejer was received in answer to a letter sent by Henry A. Gardner. District Trustee, and Dr. W. T, Brockbank, chairman of the program committee of Hie. Acknowledgement is made of your letter of the 29th ultimo, requesting permission to take charge of the program at tne laying of tne corner stone ot the Feueiai Building being erected in Spanish Fork, Utan; also youi inquiry as to whether it would oe better to have an all brick building instead of blocks covered with cement on account of the nature of the & , 4 , -- climate. Senator King, In his address, replied to statements made by the opopsition that he had done nothing while in the senate, by enumerating briefly some of the work he had been doing. He then took up the Newberry case. He stated that the seating of Newberry In the United States Senate was a disgrace to the country, and quoted from Republican Senators and newspapers to the same effect. He explained that the Tariff bill, recently passed, was a vlsclous piece ot legislation, arid 'virtually1 robbed the people of the country of (8,000,000,000 an; nually. The show- - was arranged and practically written by Elmer F. Stromberg, who also played one of the end men in the minstrel first part, which closed the show. The musical numbers proved that the American Legion has some good soloists and a. first class quartette.
