Show Work Begun Upon Panthers' jew Modern Athletic Field Latest Devices to Perfect and Keep Up Field Will Be Installed Soon aft Work was started on the construction ' of the new West Hide athletic field Wednesday afternoon. This field ts composed com-posed of a regulation football field, baseball base-ball diamond, two tennis courts and a Jumping pit, surrounded by an oval cinder cin-der trtu'k. Hurveyors have already staked off the field and arrangements are being made to Mart grading crews not later than Momlat- or Tuesday. This athletic field when completed will be one Of the best In the state of Utah. TRACK STARTED. The running track will probably be started first, as only grading on the w hole will he necessary for tha completion com-pletion of the other fields. This track being be-ing somewhat smaller than the one of the I'niversitv of I'tah. will consist of five laps to the mile, with a hundred-yard hundred-yard straightaway on the west side. This stretch will have a radius of about twice as much as the rest of the track, being thirty-two feet. The first difficulty to arise In building was over the guesiion of starting grtidlng. while Coach Mdntyre was still using the field for football practice This wa remedied, rem-edied, however, when (t was proposed that only half of the field be graded at a time, while Mclntyre use the other half for football purposes.
