Wild Women. The name suggest. In the slang, a rather daring production, but this is not so. The show which Monte Carter and-hl- scompany of (dancing baby dolls" Is offering at the 8tat theater this seek is right up to' the minute In clear rolllcksdme comedy, attractive costumes and songs that your ear Is .bound to catch and you'll whistle them as you s out. That is, you'11 whistle them If you can stop laughing enough to pucker . ur lips. Suffragettes are the wild women and the play is about them. They come in for a lot of fun throughout the comedy and the leading women have excellent opportunities to display their talents. In Monte Carter is hilariously ' funny the role of' a baron who has discovered love potion of more or less potency, aw: nt wanders into a convention of pours his potion into a water cooler This is a signal for the big laughs to begin. The suffragettes change their attitude from that of scorning men to running after them. Blanche Gilmore as the leader of the band, takes after Monte and the rest of the men in such fashion that it Is difficult for them to escape her. As usual Tom Griffin wins applause in his solo number. It is "Rainbow Girl this week. Issy and the chorus In "Rosie Rosenblott" have a catchy tune. Miss Billie Bingham in Over the Phone" is girls of up to her usual class and the the chorus do their dances in the snappy and enthusiastic manner that is characteristic of the Monte Carter shows. Special to The Tribane. BOZEMAN, Mont., Sept. 20. With the opening game of the varsity season billed for Saturday, October 2, against Jhe heavy eleven. Billings Polytechnic college Coach Ott Romneys Montana State college Bobcats closed their preschedule training period with a snappy signal practice on Gatton field this afternoon and the mentor pronounced the 1923 machine oiled primed and In gear. The formal game wKh the froeh squad y which closed the training camp revealed numerous weakneseea in the and attack and though defense. varsity the Bobklttens presented en unusually and experienced freshmen 0 squad the victory for the varsity was nothing to write home about, and Coach Romney evinced his displeasure. Strenuous netting Up exercises followed by drill in the fundamentals and long, hard scrimmage sessions during the past week have brought the old heads out of their kinks to a marked degree. It was a much more finished football aggregation which trotted off the field today than the eleven which had difficulty subduing the fcosh, made up In no small measure of Romney's proteges from East high school of Salt Hake. ten-da- 15-- Forgetting Past. The most optimistic supporters are not expecting a great deal of this years eleven however, for the prospects which Coach Romney found awaiting him were anything but roey. Last season marked the most disastrous campaign In the last decade of Montana State college football. The only victories registered were mg the expense of Mt. St. Charles college' and Montana Mines, and defeats were suffered at the hands of Montana U, Montana Wesleyan,' Gonsaga university and Utah Aggies. Then, too, the best men of last years flock with but three exceptions. were graduated. Gob Robert' son, three-yeruard; Captain Morphey, stellar tackle; Fat Anbury, center; Jorgenson, end; Jones and Cogswell, halfbacks, and several lesser lights, were among the missing this fall, and Ted Cates, stellar back and sprinter, turned up with a knee too bad to allow partial-p- at Ion. After the final shakeddwn the following lineup is expected to start against Billings Poly.: Mclvor or Brittain, cen ter; Hannon and lie Corns or Jaubert, guards; Knight said MacDonald op Cowan, tackles; Hollister and Mashln. ends; McCarren. quarterback; Bryan and Scotty MacDonald halfbacks and Bawden, the big bonecrueher from last year's froeh outfit, at fullback. ar all-sta- te The members' match will be fired over the regular army qualification course, so that each member competing will have the opportunity of having his score count to win the army insignia of expert riflemen, sharpshooter or marksman presented by the war department. Perhaps other shoots will he held during the month of October, but It is doubtful if there will be another full qualification course fired Ahig season. The Service company team Is the one which won highest honor during the state rifle shoot In July and constats of Barr, Carpenter, Foote, Timlen and The Salt Lake Rifle and Revolver club team will be made up of H. A Weymouth, J.W. Arey, Jay E. Johnson. H. O. Waters and Frank Hogan. The American Legion team will have (Lieu tenant Tullv, N. H. Callard, Captain John B.
