Coeds of tha University of Wisconsin are up In ams. They ar undecided aa to quitting th university or asking the next legislature legis-lature to move the Institution. The excitement was caused liy a recent re-cent ruline; of the dean of women and a new city ordinance classifying the junior promenade and the military ball as public dances. These are the -most Important social eventa of th school year. Coeds sre prohibited by the dsn of women from attending public danrea, and the new city law means thst the university men will have to take "town girls' or those from out of town to these affairs. Another point at issue Is the closing of sll student dancea at midnight, in stead of 1 o'clock, l'rofeesors have complained that students hsve come to Saturday morning classes bleary-eyed, tired, yswnlng and lacking In know-ledge know-ledge all because they attended a 1 o'clock party on fYtday night James L. Brader. aaslstant coach of the football team, and laet year'a prom champion was shocked. "Close st midnight, mid-night, and university girls barred? he exclaimed, "from will be ruined." The question will hs settled within a week when students, deans snd city officials get together. |
