bonow at the demise of so estimable a friend so loving lofing a other and so devoted a wife mrs lewis has had much suffering during the past two years but brough it all she lias displayed a fortitude that was most admirable and a patience that was almost an i aelic elic for the past fey weeks it arvas ivas known that her life course was nearly run and that only a miracle could prolong it A series of complications beginning with ex disturbances and extending to vital organs battled baffled the skill of 0 the attending physicians until the dark angel beckoned her to her last sleep on sunday morning mrs annabel dark clark lewis was the daughter of mr and mrs W H dark clark and was born in ogden on may 22 1870 she came to richfield with her parents in 1878 and with them partook of the joys and sorrows of the pioneers of this valloy valley As a young woman she was a leader in community work and was ever the center and life of the early day social activities she was an ardent church worker and a loved aid in all that went to make up the social and religious life of richfield in those nearly forgotten days in 1894 she met guy lewis an energetic young business man who had cast his lot with richfield lichfield lUch field and on july 8 of 0 that year they were married from this union three children were born mabel keith and lottie the latter now being the wife of norman andreason her life after marriage was along the same lines that had formerly characterized lier her she was a willing helper in time of trouble and she made and kept a wonderful group of friends when hen tho the crystal rebekah lodge as founded here she became a charter charier member and was a prominent worker in that order until illness bade her cease from her labors she is survived by her husband guy lewis cashier of the commercial bank her three children and one grandchild two brothers S G dark clark of richfield and wallace dark clark of marysvale Marys vale two sisters mrs alex elliot of richfield and mrs sadie calkins of los angeles appropriate and consoling wre were the services conducted ovet the bier of mrs airs lewis on wednesday afternoon at tile the second ward chapel with bishop W A Seeg miler in charge the entire membership of crystal rebekah rebecah lodge no 33 were in ili attendance and the floral tokens were the most elaborate seen here in a long time tile the personality of decedent the esteem in which the husband and children are hold held in this community brought a veritable shower of blossoms from friends fhi ends ns as organizations and business concerns until the bier was burled in ili flowers A double quartet under the direction of the ward choris tr mrs anna callaway rendered rend ored solemn consoling and beautiful music the selections lewis icing one of our charter members later passing through the chairs and achieved with marked ability the honors ot of our order that of N G for the designated period during her office as N G our lodge was only in its infancy but carefully did she guard it and as years have passed since that time she has given to it the benefit of her knowledge and ex peri ence to us sho she was the perfect embodiment of all that our order contains and sets out to maintain IEL in friendship love and truth A friend friend in deed and in truth her loyalty royalty to her friends cannot bo be over emphasized she never turned down a friend nor would she permit others othera to do so in her presence sho she could always see the good in life and was willing to emphasize THIS side sister lewis lovel loved her home her family her friends her homo home was her haven of rest and nothing proved more conducive to her supreme happiness than to be surrounded by her family in her own home truth in all that is holy and sublime to neighbor friend and to her god she manifested she recognized that the man of truth is ia the best beat and the strongest man that his soul like a spring of clear water reflects the light of heaven and is full of light these three characteristics friendship love arid truth as she saw them were but empty names it if not manifested in her every act of humanity into the mystic borderland tor for only the borderland does it seem has passed our beloved sister annabell lewis and whilo while the tolling bells of earth leave sad echoes in our hearts heavens angelic choir sings glad lad hallelujah as her beautiful spirit enters the eternal home A good and great woman has been taken from our midst good because of the kindness and usefulness of her life of her thoughtfulness for others and her generosity to those less fortunate than herself great because of the wonderful influence sho she exercised for the uplift of hu manity and the never failing service gave to a great cause anabel lewis name honored and beloved for the good she sought to accomplish for the happiness she has ever striven to create and that name with the record ot of her life is the greatest legacy that can be bequeathed thed to you mabel keith and lottle lottie and to the dear little grandson on whose loye loyc was one of her sweet est joys to those of us who were privileged to call her friend it meant sincerity and an intimacy that was and ever will be precious we I 1 ring bring 11 these flowers because she so loved them and because they eo 60 fit tingly represent her life and character her work is finished hera among us the grand master of 0 the universe has called her to give the report of a well spent life she is not dead she has only passed from our ight behind a curtain of mystery that will part us but for a little while we will revere her memory we will follow her example and when our life work is done we shall meet her in that happy home where god who is love shall the many qualities of mrs lewis that endeared her to her friends bishop Seeg mIler added a splendid tribute to mrs lewis a friend and companion of his youth in which he endorsed all that had been said
