Show F U N E ti I 1 HELD many Sp mikers aci s ply eloquent tribute to the qualities of decedent and beautiful music is I 1 rendered A most m st consoling service was that held list last sunday afternoon over the remains of C NL stillman the well known and much loved citizen farmer and stockman who died so suddenly on christmas day the second ward chapel was chastely draped for the occasion with cream draperies and green vines and the auditorium where mr stillman a few short das dabs before had bad spread joy and good cheer at the he community christmas tree was fittingly prepared to receive him as he was decked for the tomb the services were conducted by I 1 bishop W A and a double quartette of his friends and associates furnished sweet and consoling music the floral offerings were as beautiful as the life of decedent had been and were truly typical of the love arid and kindness which characterized 0 N stillman the opening musical number was dudley bucks magnificent setting of cardinal newmans splendid hymn lead kindly light and S G dark clark offered a fervent invocation to the throne of grace tor for consolation for fhe bereaved another music number was always with Vs Us with mrs irs R G dark clark and difford clifford beail as soloists R D young was the first speaker and he delivered the most eloquent eulogy that any of his friends have him itter fitter he pa characterized mr stillman Stilla ian as ille the embodiment of courage INI C nielson followed in a beautiful eulogy pointing out the sunny disposition of decedent and the faith that made his life serene naom heppler sang 0 dry those clars in a sweetly plaintiff voice that was soothing to the spirit of the mourners I 1 dr R garn dark clark paid a high tribute to the executive and creative ability of mr air stillman and his achievements on tho the farm and in animal husbandry J E Fl heppler epple a business associate of mr air stillman spoke of the faith in a life beyond which decedent a always manifested and made a strong declaration of his own faith kenneth hood sang just for today a beautiful and appropriate selection seely of nit mt pleasant a lifelong life long friend of decedent and in animal industry paid tribute to mr stillman Iman for his honesty and ability to overcome obstacles ile he urged the brothers and other relatives of decedent to continue the work of decedent in building arid and maintaining farm utah dont give tip the farm was his hia plea A J ashman told of the splendid qualities of mind and heart he had in C N stillman and of the humanity which actuated him in ill all he did bishop paid him tribute of for his bis charity and good works and in the spirit of right living which guided him aIN Nays the double quartette closed tho the services with tho the splendid poem 1 I shall not pass again this way ray at the cemetery the quartette sang nearer my god to thee and the grave was dedicated by W W lorrison A long cortege followed the remains to their last resting place where C AN stillman Still ninn was consigned to the tomb to await the call of the resurrection |
