By a Christian world Dr. Elwood meant a world wherein there should be a reconciliation of God and man and among individuals, classes, races, and nations to be accomplished by a process of sacrificial love ani service. In beginning his final lecture Dr. Elwcod set forth that neither growing intelligence nor the abol ition, of differences in material interests of individuals or classes woujd bring peace to a distracted world. "The vicious circle, of hate, strife, and error, he . said, "can be overcome only by love,! kindliness, and truth." SORENSON District Agriculture Inspector Tho time is here when it be come necessary, according to the State Noxius Weed law, for every person, firm and, corporation own ing, controlling or occupying lands, and every municipality, railroad and irrigation company, having sup ervision and control over streets. alleys lanes, right of ways, or other lands to cut or otherwise prevent all Canada thistle, cull thistle, bur. dock and wild morning glory from going to seed. The most practical method of er-eradicating morning glory is to give such cultivation as will virtual' ly keep the weed mowed off S or 4 Inches beneath the surface of the ground. The cultivation begins early in springtime and continues every 6 days at first and later every week or ten days throughout the season. This prevents leaves from appearing . above ground, where, with sunshine and air, they manufacture foods to be stored In the underground roots. This proceedure, strictly carried out will kill the plant in one year. Canada thistle and whitetop may be also permanently eradicated in one year by following the Ion method 'suggested above. The perennial weeds may be per manently eradicated by sterilizing the ground upon which theweed-- ! Is growing. This is accomplished by applying a jayer of common salt, f Inch deep, over the weed infested ground. The best time to apply the.salt is in the early spring time for then the rains will wash the saU into the ground. If applied add later It will be taecessary-tfrater to disolve the- - salt, and it may also be necessary to plow or spade the ground soHhat penetration will proceed more rapidly. The most prastlcal method of eradicating burdock and bull- - thistle is to cut off below the crown, those wmcht stock up and do it near .blooming time. It. is urged and hoped that all property owners corporations and In municipalities will tho movement to prevent the further spread of nlxious and unlawthose ful weeds by eradicating which may occur on their premises or lands, streets, roads or right-o- f ways under their supervision or . 48 Hours Broncho Busting, 111! one-hal- there's something so soothing and useful about swinging seems to quiet - er THE UNION Stand Couch Hammock "First: Men must be taught to repudiate force and selfishness as bases for social organization.
