Show H n R FS I AN OLD STORY 1 Day after day astonishing revelations I are being made to the senate sul3-com-i mittee which has! been sitting at San Anil An-il tonio", Tex., investigating the Mexican I situation. It is extremely interesting to 1 observe the calmness with which the Am-i Am-i erican people receive these revelations of I Mexican cruelty, perfidy and hatred. The I country simplyrfeuses to become excited , f over the new roofs of Carranza's enmity ' ' -ani M a ai- - toward this country and of his pro-Germanism. This calmness of the public mind is not due to indifference, but is due solely to the- fact that the American people iong ago became convinced of the truth of the facts which the senate sub-committee is now giving to the world in a semi-official form. Imagine the excitement and indignation in-dignation of the people if similar revelations revela-tions were to be" made concerning Canada Can-ada and Canadians! There is no excitement excite-ment today over the Mexican revelations because the American people have known or have been convinced of the truth and essence of these revelations for a long time, though details have never before been brought out. The public, in effect, hears and reads (this new evidence, and grimly says "I told you so." But there is no official or unofficial demand that the government take action, because both congress and the American people know that so long as Mr. Wilson is in the White House nothing definite will be done about the Mexican situation.
