Show RED CROSS EXTENDS RELIEF TO POLAND H More than $3,000,000 has been spent H by the American Red Cross In aiding H the stricken people of Poland. The H organization has nursed the sick, fed H the starving, clothed the nnked, shelter- H ed the homeless, schooled the children H and cared for the orphans there. It has H conducted a relentless fight against H tjphus, cholera and other terrible ills- H cases. So today millions of men and H women In that resurrected nation H speak In grnteful appreciation of "Tho H Greatest Mother In the World." H Ncnrly 200 American Red Cross H workers are now engaged In relief ac- H tlvlttcs in Poland. Four largo relief H bases aro in operation and eleven mo- H bllo units are In tho field. During the H Inst twelve months this organization H was largely Instrumental in tho re-es- H tabllshmcnt of a million refugees at n H cost for general relief of more thnn - H $1,000,000. Last winter one-half mil- H Hon war orphans were nldcd mnterlnb M ly, and since then a scries of large or- H phaunges have been established to give H them permanent care. H Hut for American Red Cross aid, of- H' flclals of Poland declared recently, mil H lions of people In that country would H have perished of disease, exposure or H starvation the last eighteen month.
