Tho blazo began shortly after 8:30 o'clock but was soon under control con-trol of the young boys who wcro directed di-rected by their Scoutmasters. Tho prompt action of tho scouts resulted in the saving of a largo and valuablo area of timber and precluding tho possibility of injury to the campers and to the nutomobilcs and equipment which were at tho time in thp forest park on the rim. Tho young fire fighters faced a serious ser-ious difficulty in tho matter of a lack of water which is transported to tho rim from a ranch several miles away, Training and discipline, however, served to overcome the obstacles tho task presented and tho scouts soon hnd the burning timber thoroughly in hand. A recent report of accidents at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Akron, Ohio, shows that of a total of 243, 175 were caused by carelessness on tho part of tho man injured and 13 by that of fellow workmen. Despite the most modern safeguards on all equipment, some of the foolish things done by workers, causing nc-cidents nc-cidents of every description, would be humorous if they were not so serious.
