Local sportsmen are busy polishing up their tackle and getting in readiness for the opening days and while the streams are not in the best condition for fly fishing some good sport Is anticipated. A long, severe winter is always an idlcatlon of good fishing, trout being more liable to Jump to a fly or attack a spinner than they are following a long warm spell. Reports from the canyon streams indicate that the water is fast falling, high water season being about over, and that some of the streams are plenty clear enough to make good fly fishing. In the other streams where the water is roily the fishermen will likely have better luck with bait than with flies. Bass fishing in Utah is never at its best until the late summer or be early fall but naturally there will some fairy good bass fishing on the opening day if weather condition are favorable. Bright sunshine and no wind help to make fishing good at Utah lake where bass are quite plentiful. o o Modern mine rescue apparatus has been purchased for the various properties of the Tintie district, being installed at the fire station in Eureka. C. A. Allen, the chief mine Inspector, state industrial commission, was here recently for the purpose of looking over the equipment which includes five modern oxygen breathing helmets. The equipment is being kept at the fire station in order that it may be rushed to any part of the district with the use of the dtys high power truck, in the event of an accident.
