Herbert Taylor and family spent Sunday at Salem and caught a nice bunch of bass. Miss Marcella Sullivan is ths guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Good of Salt Lakfc , Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hopes were guests of the latter's mother, Mrs. William Cole, of Nephl, last week. Elmer, who submitted to an operation for appendicitis, will leave the Holy Cross hospital within a day or two. Tom Worthington, who was 111 at one of the Salt Lake hospitals for several weeks, Is once more back In Eureka. He la not entirely well but Is fast gaining strength. Jones of Salt Lake. While In Tlntlc they visited with Mr. snd Mrs. B. M. Cornish at Mammoth.Salmon are unusually plentiful In' the Columbia River and Martin En--j qulst, Eureka man who operates two or three fish wheels, will no doubt have a great season. It has been! yesre since the fish were so plentiful, There has also been a big run of smelt In. the Columbia and people along the river have been able to scoop them up with pretty much any kind of a receptacle from a hat to a bird cage.
