Show Weber State professor authors textbook Weber State College has several professors who have authored textbooks in their respective fields and a few successful fiction writers. The Sociology 301 students have decided to follow the lead given by these professors and author a book of their own. " "A Social Class Guide to Ogden," will be a combined effort of the 49 students enrolled in Stratification this quarter. Dr. L. Kay Gillespie, Upcoming concert to celebrate Year of Disabled Persons A variety of musicians and dancers will present a concert in celebration of the International Year of Disabled Persons on Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. in the Dee Events Center. The two-hour concert will feature singer Danny Dear-doff, Sun Shade V Rain, The Dance Company, trumpeter Paul Cacia, and the Big Band Sound conducted by Robert Bowden. Deardoff, a polio victim, performs from his motorized wheelchair. He has sung in concert billings with Seals and Crofts, Maureen McGovern, Loggins and Messina, England Dan and John Ford Coley, and Kenny Rankin. Sun Shade V Rain, with singers Dan Lindstrom, Jeff Gregerson and Mel Teeples, has performed in Las Vegas and Reno. They are backed by a five-member combo. The Dance Company's 12 performers span the history of American dance, including musical theater, period dance, jitterbug and jazz. The dancers range from adolescents to seasoned veterans. Paul Cacia, who has performed with the Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus, as well as with the Al Hirt Band. He has performed concerts in conjunction with San-tana, the Ohio Players, Uriah Heep, Sly and the Family Stone and others.
