Cox are pleased to announce the marriage of their mother, Candace, daughter of Eric and Eloise Christensen of Ephraim, to Cory R. Hatch, son of Reed and Debbie Hatch of Manti, on June 9, 2007. A celebration will be held in their honor on June 9, 2007 for family and friends. Candace is a graduate of Manti High School and is employed with Zions First National Bank in Manti. Cory, also a graduate of Manti, and his brother Kent own their own landscaping business, Vision Landscapes. The happy couple will reside in Manti. Surrounded by her family, LeAnne Huntsman Beal was greeted by ancestors, friends and loved ones on the other side of the veil, Saturday June 2, 2007, after a valiant battle with cancer. LeAnne was born to Evan and Leona Huntsman, March 10, 1959 in Salina. She married Jene Beal in the Manti Utah Temple of the LDS Church on April 6, 1979. LeAnne had many great accomplishments in her life. She worked for Sanpete County as a deputy recorder, where she made many friends. She was heavily involved in politics and served as the Sanpete County Republican Party Chair, vice chair, south area representative, state delegate and county delegate. She also served on the Republican State Central Committee. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and served in many positions. Among her favorites were in the young women, and of course, scouting. She earned her Young Women’s medallion and as a scout leader she was awarded the Silver Beaver. LeAnne, always felt however, that her finest accomplishment was her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She immersed herself entirely in whatever she committed to do. She felt that whatever she did had to be done with perfection. She never did anything halfway. LeAnne loved to camp, travel and make memories with her family. She was always trying to teach her family while making those memories. She had a talent for finding the profound in the simplest things, and was grateful for whatever opportunities the Lord placed before her. Her endurance was monumental and her patience was staggering. She is survived by her husband and four daughters, Lauriza (Dean), Telasia (Joel), Jenessa and Natalya; a son, McKuhla J Allen; four grandchildren, Taylor Lynn, Adalee LeAnne, Morgan Anne and Spencer Joel; her mother; six sisters, EvaLynn (Russell), Elayne (James), Loraine (Steve), Lisa (Roger), Emily (Quinton) and Lorilee (Taylor); and brothers, Leland (Irene) and Leon (Heidi). The family would like to express their special thanks to all the good folks from hospice for the special attention they gave her, her special Manti 4th LDS Ward family, Rasmussen Mortuary and Ilene Roth and the Rat Fink gang. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at the Manti Stake Center at 295 South Main. A viewing will be held today, Wednesday, from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Manti Stake Center, prior to services. Pleasant will soon make dry cleaning more convenient for central Sanpete by opening a pickup and drop-off location in downtown Ephraim. Owners Andy and Jennifer Coons opened their first store in Mt. Pleasant two months ago. As part of their business plan, they said they hoped to offer satellite locations to better serve the entire county. The cleaners filled a void left when American Cleaners, the only dry cleaning establishment in the county north of Gunnison, closed last October. But dry cleaning is not their only business. They will gladly clean all your clothes. “We love to put creases in jeans,” Andy Coons said. “We love shirt laundry. We have as much starch as you need.” Coons said they would still be able to return laundry quickly, usually within three days. The store will be located at 69 S. Main St. in Ephraim. Store hours have yet to be determined. Housing application deadlines set MANTI—USDA Rural Development recently published timeframes and guidelines for applications for Rural Rental Housing and other housing assistance programs, according to Jack Cox, Utah State Director. Applications are to be delivered on or before the deadline to the USDA Rural Development State Office, 125 S. State St., Room 4311, Salt Lake City, Utah 84138. The application deadline for rural rental housing is June 29; farm labor housing and housing preservations grant applications are June 18. Take Sanpete virtual tours online MANTI—Visitors to the Sanpete Economic Development website, sanpetecounty.org, can now take virtual tours of many recreational activities, including riding ATV trails, camping in Palisade State Park, rock climbing in Maple Canyon, or visiting Snow College campus. Other tours include historical information, such as historic Spring City attractions, information on the Blackhawk War, or on famous artist Avard Fairbanks, featured at the Fairview Museum. There are also videos on snow sports: snowmobiling, snow kiting, and other winter activities. Utah moving toward solar power SALT LAKE CITY—Gov. Jon Huntsman and Rocky Mountain Power signed a certificate verifying they would switch over to Blue Sky Energy in an effort to become more energy efficient. Blue Sky is an Australian owned company that specializes in solar power research. They specialize in providing packages to help companies switch from fossil fuel based power to solar power. In addition to signing the certificate, Huntsman is setting an example for the rest of Utah in energy conservation by converting his suburban to run on compressed natural gas and redoing 90 percent of the lighting at the Governor’s Mansion so it is more energy efficient. Hospice volunteers are needed, and are a vital part of Hospice care. A volunteer gives love, and caring friendship to hospice patients and their families. Volunteers do not expect monetary gain, but receive grateful smiles, love, friendship, and the satisfaction that they are making someone else’s life easier.
