Show Salma SunGunnison Valley News. January 11. 1995 Page 3 Pickett to turn 90 this Monday Erma has one sister, Ada Bennett of Gunnison, and one brother, Eldred Olsen of Sterling, still living. To honor her and celebrate these many years of service, her family will gather for a dinner, program, games Erma Olsen Pickett will celebrate her 90th birthday Monday, Jan. 16, 1995. She was bom in Manti, the seventh of nine children, to Louis Christian and Pheba Ann Mackay Olsen in 1905. and visiting. They believe the following quotation describes her: Age is the top of a mountain high; Rarer the air, and blue. A long hard climb, a bit offatigue; But Oh! What a wonderful view! She lived in Manti until she was five, then her father was called to be the Sterling Bishop. She attended school in Sterling and manti, graduating from Manti High School. On April 28th, 1926 she married Merrill Pickett in the Manti LDS Temple. They made their home in Gunnison, where they were involved in farming, dairy business, church Korben Willis Korben David Willis celebrated his first birthday January 8, 1995. Celebrating with him were his parents, David and Lyn Willis, his grandparents Raylen Taylor and Sherrie Cunningham of Redmond, Cornell Willis of Auroa, his ts, Margie and Darrell Despain of Axtell, Melvin and Nora Hansen of Elsinore, Clarence Dennison of Ephraim, Bonnie Willis of Cannonville and Dora Barney of Richfield. There were also lots of Aunts and Uncles and a cousin, too. Happy and community activities. Throughout her life she served in many positions. Erma and Merrill accepted a call to serve as missionaries in the Southwest Indian Mission and in 1962 they were called to serve as ordinance workers at the Manti Temple. They served in this calling for 14 years. They are the parents of six children: Norma (Mrs. Douglas Jensen, of Redmond), Jerry (married to the former Vonda Richards, now' of Menan, Idaho), Louis (married to the former Willy Marsha VanGeldercn, now of Sandy), Nada Ann (Mrs. Sterling Stillman, of Riverton), Phyllis (Mrs. Lee Jensen, of Redmond), Kirby (married to the former Georgeana Jensen, of Gunnison). (Verle) Peterson on her 80th birthday. Mrs. Peterson was bom Dec.28, 1914 in Redmond. Utah, daughter of Millre Anderson and Albert N. Poulson. Her early education was in Redmond and Salina.
