Show Thursday, September 21. 2006 OREM TIMES Page 13 Obituaries 1 Michael Floyd Vincent Michael Floyd Vincent, 60, returned re-turned to Heavenly Father on Saturday, Sat-urday, Sept. 16, 2006 after suf fering fer-ing from a lung disease, Mike was born December 4, to Theresa Roy and Wiliard Leon Vincent in Payson, Utah. He was the second of seven children. He was raised in Spanish Fork and SpringviJJe. He attended SpringvtJte High School and graduated in L4. Following Fol-lowing graduation, he enlisted in the VS. Marine Corp and served three tours in Vietnam. Mike was a sharp shooter and continued to improve his skills during his entire life. In 1969, Mike met the love of his life, Janice Peay, daughter of Belva and Donald Peay of Provo, They were happily married for 36 years. During their marriage they welcomed four children; Stacy, Jaime Lynn (deceased), Mandy and Bradley. Mike had many hob-toes hob-toes including hunting, fishing, farming, fixing things, reloading gun shells, taking care of animals and spending time with his grandchildren. grand-children. Mike worked at Geneva Steel for 29 years, Upon dosing, he went to work for Harrison Transportation Trans-portation and Ryan Company of Chantifly, VA. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved to continue learning about His Savior Jesus Christ. Mike loved life and had a real zest for fun. He lived life to its fullest until hit health would no longer permit. He was a very caring car-ing and generous individual who loved to please others. Although his life was short, he touched many lives and will be greater missed by family and friends. He will especially be missed to the lives of his grandchildren; Trevor (8) and Olivia (6) BsJey, Brookyn (7). S3 (4), and Emily Backus (2). Grandpa loved "his kids" and wasn't af raid to show his love for them. Thelma Fern Hansen Carter "Together at Last" Thelma Fern Hansen Carter was born on January 4, IflOS at Lehi, Utah, daughter of Svend Peter Pe-ter Hansen and Delia Halsey Hansen, Han-sen, She passed away peacefully on September 15, 2006 incident to her age at the Greenwood Assisted As-sisted Living Center, Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Darrall Carter of Lehi in 2002, and a son, Jerry Carter, and a grandson Gerry Lynn Carter of Stockton, Fern loved to garden, cook, give lots of kisses to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and be a sweet and loving wife and mother. moth-er. She had a strong testimony of the gospel, and served in the Relief Society Presidency, MIA teacher, and a visting teacher for more than 70 years, Darrall and Fern were cafled to work in the Provo Temple for more than eight years. Fern and Darrall have 5 children: chil-dren: Jerry, deceased, (Elaine) Carter of Stockton, JoAnn (Ivan) Muse of Lehi Carma (Ed) Hampton Hamp-ton of Lehi, Kenny (Torn) Carter of Leti and Carol (Dak) Knapp of Pleasant Grove. They have 24 grandchildren. 66 great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. grand-children. Fern was bom and raised in Lehi where she attended school and worked at the Lehi Hospital as a cook in her early adult years. She married Darrall Carter on December 14, 1SS2 in Salt Lake Temple, She had six brothers and sisters; Francis Rekt who died in infancy, Emmett (ZeUa) Hansen, Oral (Mamie) Hansen, Janice (Rass) Bowles of MkSvale, John (Marge) Hansen of Lehi, and Russ (Genevieve) Hansen of linden (an adopted son) who was Pet Hansen's nephew. We woukl like to give a special spe-cial thanks to Greenwood Assisted As-sisted Living Center and the many workers who assisted both Fern and Darrall in their later years. In Whit tier, he attended Jr, High and High School where he played baseball and basket balL He was chosen to play on the "All Star City Basketball Team." Kent Our precious loved one Kent Cornell passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family after a week -long bedside vigil Kent was born in American Fork, Utah on March 6, 1966 to Doug and Carma Cornell. His mortal journey ended Wednesday, September Sep-tember 1 2006 at Utah Valley Hospital Music was his life's passion with a special love for the guitar.
