Mrs. Gadd, former social worker, was bom at Nephi April 14, 1887, daughter of Thomas Goble and Martha Moore Crawforth Carter. She was married to Albert Victor Gadd December 23, 1908 at Nephi, and the marriage was solemnized at the Manti Temple February 23, 1910. is mother of Donald F. Gadd, James Hal Gadd, Provo, Mrs. Ralph P. (Marjorie) Frandsen, Victor E. Gadd and John W. Gadd, all of Salt Lake City. She also numbers 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren among her posterity. Mrs. Gadd is a retired social worker, an active club and civic leader. She has served in the various organizations of the LDS church, including 19 years activity in three ward Relief Society presidencies, and six years as a counselor in the Juab Stake Relief Society Presidency. She also has been active in genealogy work in the Nephi Fourth Ward, serving currently as a record examiner. She was a member of the Juab Stake Singing Mothers, the chorus which sang in a Relief Society conference. This is something new for the Junior Prom, and according to Junior class officers, is something new and exciting. In the past few years, the prom has been set on a popular song of the day, but this year, that policy was changed with the usage of the Japanese song. A full obituary will be carried in next Thursdays edition. Saturday Evening Mrs. A. V. Gadd Heber J. Fowkes, 90, retired rancher and formerly bus driver for Juab School District, died at the Juab County Hospital at Nephi at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday. A native of Nephi, Mr. Fowkes had resided at the Fowkes ranch north of Mona throughout the majority of his lifetime. Junior Prom Set y, Victoria Orme Reviews I). N. Experiences for Beta Club Victoria Orme told of her experiences at the United Nations and at the Model U. N. at the Beta Literary Club meeting on Thursday, April 6th held at the home of Mrs. Roy E. Gibson. Miss Orme stated that the United Nations is our only hope for peace at the present time, and even though we may not approve of everything that goes on there, we should support that organization. She told of the many good things that the United Nations sponsor, such as UNICEF and about her involvement in that organization. She spoke of the Model U. N. and of her experiences there, and stated that she felt that it was a very worthwhile activity and should be encouraged in our local high school. Christensen of the Manti Temple will be speaker at the monthly meeting of the Seventy-firQuorum of Seventy, it has been announced this week. NEPHI STATION City Council Says Thanks A BIG THANKS is extended by the Nephi City Council to all the residents of Nephi that have cooperated in the excellent city-wicleanup. Many have gone the extra mile to improve their landscape. There are still too many residents that have not cooperated in the cleanup. We hope they will get the urge to do their part. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home for Harry A. Trowbridge, 73, who died April 10 at Long Beach, California. Friends may call at the mortuary one hour prior to the services. Mr. Trowbridge was bom October 31, 1898 at Basalt, Colorado to Charles E and Hermina Goslin Tunbridge. He married Laura Broadhead of Nephi June 23, 1930 in Salt Lake City. The marriage later was solemnized at the Manti LDS Temple. Survivors are his widow of Long Beach; a son, Richard R. Trowbridge and a daughter, Mrs. Warren (Marilyn) Pickering, both of Lakewood, California. Also surviving are three grandchildren; two brothers and a sister: Rowland and Clar-o- n Trowbridge, and Mrs. Verna Fuller, all of Lakewood, California. Burial at the Vine Bluff Cemetery will be directed by Anderson Funeral Home of Nephi. President Golden R. Mangelson of Juab Stake, together with his counselors Vaughn J. Paxman and Wesley A. Lynn, have issued a cordial invitation to all members of Juab Stake to attend a special event at the Stake House Friday, honoring R. Roscoe Garrett, former stake president, his counselors, members of the Juab Stake High Council and an assistant stake clerk who were released in a reorganization on February 27. Those to be honored include President Garrett, Roy E. Gibson, J. Barres Jen- - kins, Dr. Preston L. Jones, Calvin E Neilsen, LeGrande Mangelson, Dwain R. Bracken, Glade Sanders, Thad M. School Play Readied; April 20-2- 1 are Dates Finishing touches are being placed on the Juab High School Student Body play Dino which will be presented at the Auditorium on April 20 and 21. According to Lamar Nielsen, drama director, the entire cast will be ready for the opening nights entertainment. The play, is about a young boy, now 17, who has been sent to a reformatory at age 12 for participating in the murder of a night watchman. After release from the reformatory, he returns to his old neighborhood to try and make a new start of things. He immediately is taken to a settlement house, a center where teenagers who might otherwise grow up in the slums and turn to crime, are helped and given a place to go. He soon realizes that his adjustment to society is not going to be easy, however, for his younger brother comes to him with the proposition of leading a new gang. The play stars David Spencer as Dino; Patti Sellers as Jackie, a girl that helps Dino readjust to society; Daryl Gibson as a psychotherapist at the settlement house; Terri Shepherd as Jackie, a wisecracking secretary; Gail Belliston as a director at the house; and Luis Ballow as Tony, Dinos brother, about to turn to crime. Booklore Club Members Hear Need for Properly Planning Members of the Booklore Club met Mrs. Theo Westring for an informative talk on The Role of An Attoreny. Mrs. Hazel Garrett, in charge of the program, introduced Milton T. Harmon, a Nephi Attorney, who stressed the importance of family responsibility relative to personal property and belongings, in connection with specific ownership in case of a death within the family. Attorney Harmon stressed that all should be elert to recent laws relative to socity security benefits, and know where you stand regarding property joint tenancy, and do those things which will stand the test, regardless of any situation that may arise within a family. Da-Ne- Attains Snow Honor Roll Ephraim Nephi Club Ladies Invited to Springville Art Tea Saturday An invitation has been received by the Federated Women of Nephi for all interested to attend the annual Art Tea sponsored by Womens Federated Clubs of Springville. The tea is to be held at the Springville Art Museum Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m., according to Mrs. Beth Hanson, council president Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kendall and family of Salt Lake City were recent visitors at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kendall. News of the Senior Citizens Senior Citizens met last Wednesday in their new building just north of the First Security Bank. The room has been freshly renovated and painted, and new fixtures installed to make it very nice. A film was shown by Lawrence Boswell called German Festival. Refreshments were served to 59. The Senior Citizens monthly dinner will be at the Juab District Elementary School on Wednesday, April 19 at 1:30 p m. Those desiring to attend should call Arvilla Kendall, president, to make reservations by noon April 18. No reservations will be taken after that time. Those attending should bring their own dishes. Embro Bendixen, Levan Couples Feted Recently at Double Golden Wedding Anniversary Observance of a golden wedLevan ding anniversary is a occasion, but the observance of a double golden wedding anniversary by twin sisters married to brothers must be a most uncommon occurrence. On March 29, 1922, Erhardt Bendixen and his brother James Embro Bendixen, took twin sisters, Eva Winter and Sarah Winter to the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints for marriage. Recently the two couples were feted by family members on the 50th anniversary of this double marriage at a double golden wedding celebration. Children and grandchildren of the two Icouples honored their parents at a dinner held at the Levan Ward Cultural Hall on Saturday, April 1. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and featuring a beautiful wedding cake, was enjoyed, after which the families gathered to honor their own parents. A special guest at the dinner was a sister of the ladies, Mrs. Christine W. Taylor, also of Levan.
