weekend (UEA) at pm on Thursday and day Lap swim will at it's usual time from 5:30 am until 9 am The racquetball league has begun it's regular play season The league plays every Tuesday night The courts are served for the league Call the pool at 33 if you want to reserve a court on any other evening Free pool schedules are available at the pool's admission counter These schedules have the pool hours prices special days and program Lessons The next session of winter swim lessons begins Monday Oct 20 Levels II and III will be offered Call the pool at 33 to register for these lessons The pool is organizing a winter class This class is excellent for those individuals who cannot do aerobic exercise on land The water makes the body buoyant therefore reducing stress on the joints and muscles Parowan MHS Events Thursday West Millard Swim Pool news 6th grade and grades All participants will receive a ticket to a Jazz game All information and registration at the Recreation Office quarterback Dane Stephenson started for injured varsity quarterback Kyle Allen and was able to keep the Eagles on the w inning trail as he threw for 6 wn passes Catching the TD passes were Jake Stephenson with four and Mike Turner and Josh Beckstrand The score at halftime was forthe Eagles Millard's Adam T umcr continued to chalk up the rushing yards with an 80 yard kickoff return and a run for other touchdown Nelson Aleman added two field goals of 23 and 32 yards and six extra points to round out the Eagle scoring Defense was the name of the game as Millard's defensive unit held the Rams to very little yardage Parowan s scores came late in the 4th quarter as the Millard coaching staff was able to give everyone playing time In Thursday's JV game Millard kept their undefeated season alive w ith Country Race The annual crosscountry race is being held October 17 at Fillmore Middle School The race is approximately two miles long It is under the direction of the Millard High Cross Country Team invited to am watch this event which begins at Amy Lake Wright age 9 of Delta died October 5 in the Delta Medical Center She was bom October 7 1906 in Coral Michigan to Claude and Carrie Grage Lake After her Mother's death when she was a young girl she moved to Abraham Utah to live with her Father’s sister Mrs Zola Franklin who she referred to as her Mother Married Thomas Henry Wright 1932 at Las Vegas Nevada later divorced She worked for many years as a waitress in the Cafes in Delta for many years she worked with Hatch Farnsworth in the City Cafe and for Doyle and Pearl Topham at Tops City Cafe until her tirement when she was in her 70’s She is survived by a son Thomas and wife Jackie of Jackpot Nevada 4 granddaughters Shelly Brandy Amber Kimberlee 3 grandsons Scott Ryan and Chris all of Jackpot Nevada 3 great grandchildren sister Frances Wicks of Lansing Michigan half sister lola Lake also of Lansing Michigan preceded in death by her mother Zola Franklin and one great grandson Business Manager will award the children with savings bonds “Victor Steve and Nathan submitted original hand drawn creations describing an electrical message for the community Each drawing illustrated the importance of power line safety" said Cox The power safety contest was developed by Utah Power to help educate children and the community about dangers associated with electricity "We want to encourage both children and adults to thank and talk about electrical safety This time of year we spend more time outside and it is important to know basic energy safety principles Through this coloring contest we saw children creatively think about problems associated with power lines" said Cox Over 700 entries were received and each Utah Power area had at least one winner The pictures highlighted safety principles such as: not flying kites by power lines noticing substations or anything marked “Danger High Voltage" and being aware of overhead power lines while playing or doing residence on Saturday afternoon She was bom on August 26 1950 in Delta Utah to Herald and Rae (Reid) Petersen who survive and reside in Cedar City Utah Shirlee was raised in Delta and graduated from Delta High School She moved to Las Vegas and to Los Angeles then to Price Utah She married Mark Brennan in Delta Utah on November 26 982 They moved to American Fork Utah Their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 24 984 Theythen moved to Pony Montana She started the Porcelain Doll Company a company that manufactured ceramic dolls and ran the company until her death She was a member of the Three Forks Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints She is survived by her husband Mark Brennan sons Michael J Brennan of St Rana Bennett age 83 died October 2 1997 at Delta Utah She was bom April 7 1914 at Deseret Utah to Benjamin Winters and Susan Malvola Frampton Bennett Rana was the third child with two older brothers and two younger brother and three younger sisters Rana received most of her education at the A C Nelson School in Deseret She was baptized a member of the LDS Church on August 28 1923 in the Sevier River She enjoyed playing baseball and card games Her favorite card game was Canasta which she usually won She helped with household chores gardening and generally helping her parents Rana moved to the Tooele Army Depot with her parents during the war years While in Tooele she worked as a baby sitter She continued to take care of her parents after moving back to Delta After her father died in 1954 and her mother in 1958 she moved to Sutherland to live with her sister Geniel In 1964 she moved to the Fillmore: Edward Finlinson age 91 a great kind and generous man passed away on October 3 1997 and returned to the presence ofhis Heavenly Father life His ing lived an honorable exemplary body succumbed to cancer but his spirit never did Edward was bom May 13 1906 in Utah to George Edward and Oak City Mary Caroline Roper Finlinson Ed was the fifth of nine children The Finlinsons were a large and lov ing family who ued close family ties and hard work He married Afton Lambert April 17 1935 in the Salt Lake Temple They have dedicated to the serv ice of others and he serv ed unselfishly He had a gentle manner and was a comfort to many especially his He taught by example the way to family serve others Edward was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Saints and served in many capacities throughout his life He fulfilled an honorable mission to the Southern States in 1927 has served in the Bishopric High Priest Group Leader Young Mens President Sunday School President Stake Missionary home teacher choir president and has sung in the ard choir for over 65 years He has been a wonderful example to his five children his 23
