The committee in charge reported that they had just won a victory which would Aid materially in their dream come making true. At the last meeting of the city , council a proposition was placed before the city fathers asking for an increase in thfe city .tax to cover the cerexpense ot beautifying tain streets of Hyrum. The proposition was passed by the council and it was agreed to raise the tax one mill to meet the demands of the committee. Following the meeting a call was made bv II. P. Andersen, president of the club, for every available man and team in the community to commence work Monday morning, March 12 at 8 a. m. in removing trees from the streets and prepare for the planting of more suitable trees to replace those now standing, J. R- Baxter, chairman of the road committee of the city council with Sam Green, road were placed i n supervisor chrage of the work. H. P. and C. L.
