Survivors include his widow; his parents, a son and daughter, James Eugene Roberts, 5, and Jeweliann Roberts, 2, Pies-toa brother, Earl C. Roberts, recently released from the prmy; a grandmother, Mrs. James W. Roberts, Los Angeles. Lieutenant Dames, missing In action since Aug 7, 1944, is now presumed to have been killed on that date. He was the pilot of a 7 Thunderbolt fighter plane which participated in a divc- bombing and strafing mission area over the St in France. He was hit by enemy fire from the machine-gu- n ground and the plane crashed and exploded in b wooded area the 10 miles east of Amiens, War Department informed his family. He was born Aug. 23, 1919, at Hyde Park. After attending North Cache High School and Utah State Agricultural College, he served on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Central States. He entered the army in February, 1942, serving with the field artillery at Ft. Sill, Okla., and Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. Lieutenant Dames transferred to the air force, training in California and Arizona and winning his wings in February, 1944. After three months of advanced training at Abilene, Tex., he went overseas in May, 1944. He was posthumously awarded the Air Medal March 2, 1945. i Survivors include his parents; seven brothers, Maj.
