Rutland comes to Stein Eriksen Lodge after Red Ledges and St. Regis partner Members of Red Ledges and Deer Crest Club to share benefits By MEGAN YEITER Of the Record staff Red Ledges and St. Regis Deer Valley have partnered to form an exclusive partnership for their members. The idea behind the partnership is to give members at both properties access to year-round sports. According to Red Ledges COO, Mitchel Burns, "we've always been about lifestyle and living within the mountains. From the very beginning we wanted to have an on-mountain experience." The Red Ledges development is located east of Heber City. Burns explained that due to the location and hotel amenities of St. Regis, Red Ledges has an opportunity to have a presence on the mountain at Deer Valley. In return, owners at St. Regis are given the opportunity to enjoy the year-round activities at Red Ledges including golf. Red Ledges offers a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course that opened in July 2009. The course was .also named No. 1 Best Golf Course in 2009 by Golf Magazine. The course will open for its third season on April 30. In addition. Red Ledges offers a Nicklaus designed 9-hole short course, Jim McLean golf school, Cliff Drysdale tennis school, a spa and fitness facility and an equestrian center. The equestrian center offers trail rides, wagon rides, and sleigh rides - pulled by two Clydesdale horses throughout the winter. The partnership will offer members of Red Ledges access to St. Regis private Deer Crest Club adjacent to Deer Valley's Snow Park Lodge, which includes a private lounge along with lockers and ski-in, ski-out access to Deer Valley Ski slopes. In addition, members can also enjoy all the St. Regis hotel amenities along with their signature restaurant, J&G Grill. Mark K. Fischer from St. Regis said, "The hotel had been looking for a way to accommodate our guests in terms of high-end golf for about a year, and separately Red Ledges approached us about doing a promotional package. It just seemed to work very well on a number of fronts." Representatives of both proper- ties say their members and residence owners are outdoor activities enthusiasts. With St. Regis located slopeside on the No. 1 ski resort in North America, and Red Ledges golf course named No. 1 in Utah, "it was a pretty natural partnership," Fischer said. A Deer Crest Club membership allows access to all resort amenities, member-only rooms within the hotel, along with opportunities to participate in exclusive programs. According to Fischer, these programs may include exotic trips, wine dinners, special guided ski-days or destination fly fishing excursions. The Deer Crest Club is currently offering 15 founding memberships to the public, with an additional 85 memberships to be added later in the season. Residence owners and Deer Crest home owners are always eligible for memberships subject to availability. Deer Crest Club will offer a total of 195 memberships. It takes about 15 minutes to travel between locations and St. Regis and Red Ledges have private transportation vehicles to escort their members. Red Ledges has 135 residence owners ranging from their 30s to late 60s. Families meet at Red Ledges for family gatherings. The property stretches along 2,000 acres with an estimated 1,200 home sales projected.
