BIRTHDAYS Skyler Barth Hammond Skyler Barth Hammond, the son of Barth and Lacey Jay Hammond of Manti, will celebrate his 1st birthday on Sept. 15, 2005. Skyler is all boy. Dorothy was born Aug. 31, 1925 to Wilford and Ruth Jensen. Dorothy loved her profession as an educator and taught school for 32 years. She spent 29 of those years teaching at Ephraim Elementary. In 1991 she was voted Utah’s Mother of the Year. Throughout her life she has served in many callings for the LDS Church. Working in the Manti Utah LDS temple for 11 years with her husband, Robert L. Stoddard, is one of the experiences she treasures most. At the time of Robert’s passing in May of 1994, Dorothy had been married to the love of her life for 46 years. She has traveled extensively and enjoyed a trip to Denmark in July of this year. More than anything in life, Dorothy values her Skyler Hammond Cayden Hansen, the son of Rory and Cari Hansen of Mayfield, celebrated his first birthday on Sept. 10, 2005. Cayden loves to read books, listen to music and watch Elmo’s World with his mom and dad. He loves to play with other kids. He also loves his toy cars, but his favorite thing is to pretend to drive his dad’s car in the driveway. He is the grandson of Grant and Janet Hansen of Mayfield and Lynn and Janet Walkenhurst of South Jordan. Cayden Hansen Farewell David Sanderson Taiwan Taipei Mission David Sanderson, the son of Ira and Barbara Sanderson of Gunnison, has accepted a call to serve in the Taiwan, Taipei Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will speak in the Gunnison 2nd Ward sacrament meeting on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 2:50 p.m. at the Gunnison Stake Center. David will enter the MTC on Sept. 21 where he will study Madarin Chinese prior to his departure. David Sanderson He is a graduate of Gunnison High School and the four-year LDS seminary program. He will enter the Missionary Training Center on Sept. 21, 2005. He will speak in sacrament meeting on Sept. 18 at 12:50 p.m. in the Ephraim 5th Ward chapel located at 751 S. 100 East in Ephraim.
