One discount per coup>a AAA offers benefit savings plan for prescription drugs With the cost of health care continuing to increase and no relief in sight, AAA has created a new benefit - AAA Prescription Savings -- to help members battle the cost of staying healthy. At more than 600 pharmacies throughout Utah, Nevada and California, AAA members can now benefit from a discount on most prescription medications that are not covered by insurance. Savings average 35 percent on generic drugs and 15 percent on brand name medications. Participating pharmacies include Albcrtsons, Costco, Rite Aid, Smiths, and Target, as well as many others. "The price tag for protecting your health can be high," said Rolayne Fairclough, spokeswoman for AAA Utah. "This new benefit lets AAA members save money on the medicines they need." To obtain a discount, members should simply" present a valid AAA card before paying for prescriptions. Nearly 18 percent of AAA members have no prescription drug insurance coverage. The program is available to members and their families, regardless of age. A pharmaceutical discount program might seem like an unexpected benefit from an organization that many people associate with a tow truck, but the people at AAA say your membership can help you with a lot more than a flat tire or a dead battery. "Many AAA members dont realize their card entitles them to a wide variety of discounts," explained Fairclough. "Your AAA membership can save you money on everything from your next set of new tires to flower delivery." Information about participating retailers is available at www.aaa.com/savings. The AAA Prescription Savings cannot be used in combination with any other medical insurance plan. AAA Utah offers a wide array of automotive, travel, insurance and financial services to more than 130,000 members. The odds are one in eight that you'll be a victim of identity theft.
