Show ASWC President Should Mind Ms Ps and Qs legislative assembly budget, Mr. Lambert became very defensive. He said, Its none of your goddamned business." I was informed that I was just one student and that my only contribution after five years amounted to $300 in student fees. Mr. Lambert represents the executive cabinet and should act accordingly. I am A Letter to the Editor: Per the article Where is Your Money Going? Do you care? (Oct. 30, 1990 Vol. XXXVIII Issue VII), I tried to follow the ASWC Executive Boards directive: get involved." I stopped by the ASWC office to speak with the ASWC president, Bruce Lambert, concerning funds for a new club. After I asked several questions concerning the capital improvement account and the just one member of his constituency, but Mr. Lambert must realize there are over 2, 000 justone students"inhis constituency. Furthermore, this constituency represents years as an undergraduate. Now, as a graduate student, I am trying to stay involved. That is a difficult task, to say the least, when confronted by someone as as Mr. Lambert. arrogant and If the ASWC Executive Board members are truly concerned about the economic apathy of the students," perhaps they should show their concern and willingness to share information when students make an effort to become informed. The Executive Board (and other Westminster students) may also want to be aware that such an individual is representing them. The Executive Board of the ASWC may want to stop writing articles that make themlooklike hypocrites. the concerns of over 2,000 individuals not one amorphous mass which reflects the concerns of Mr. Lambert alone. It is my understanding that Mr. Lambert has offended several other individuals and is earning quite a reputation for his lack of diplomacy. I am insulted and surprised self-servi- that Westminster students would choose such a tactless and unprofessional person for president. Like many others, I was involved with student government my entire four Job Expo: Babysitters not Included the expo she gave me a list of names to enter into our computer. When the list was finished we had approximately 304 employers received information on the expo and the ones that attended were the ones that were truly interested in Westminster students. Companies do not hire all the time. Just because they are not interested at the time you talk to them does not mean they wont remember you when they are hiring. It is your responsibility to make a lasting impression on the employers who are willing to come to Westminster. As a Dear Editor, I was annoyed by the comments ofthe students you interviewed after the Career Expo. I dont believe any of these students understands how one goes about organizing an expo. The process takes six to nine months and even after contact is made, the employers are hesitant to come to Westminster because of our size. Many employers said they would attend and then days before the Expo called and canceled. Isnt the customer always right? The managers job hinges on the people eating there. If the people stop paying their little Visits, the food goes bad withoutbeing sold and food costs go through the roof. This is a very good reason to fire a manager, put simply, because the store is losing money, We did not go totally undefended in this instance of verbal abuse. I would like to commend the girl who had been serving us. How much do you have to pay in order to avoid being treated like youre less human than the person behind that fast food cash register? With two friends, I recently paid a visit to the Arbs in Fashion Place Mall and made a simple request, Could I get some more Arbs sauce, please? The girl at the register gave us some, The manager immediately appeared, took it off my tray and gave me a dirty look, accompanied by a sharp reprisal: Any more spoke in our defense, but quit immediately after. I worked at a fast food restaurant for several years and was a manager. If one of my employees reprimanded a customer for asking for additional condiments, I would have fired him or her on the spot. My friend said, Ive already spent $13 on food. How much more does it take?" He turned his back on us, yelled at the girl for giving us the Arbs sauce and told everyone behind the counter to get us our order and get us out out of there. Whats the big deal? In other stores, they have bottles of the stuff on tables and they are strangely devoid of meters for you to deposit nickels every time you pick it up. So, why is the manager at the Arb s at the Fashion Place Mall so uptight? His reprisal made us angry, needless to say. Not only did we not deserve his reaction, but we didnt get enough Arbs sauce to make us happy. Isnt that what the pointis? The people behind the counter couldnt tell us, for fear of losing their jobs and the manager wouldnt tell us. We asked to use their phone book so we could look it up, but we were refused this service, also. We went to another phone, called the regional office and got a machine telling us that no one was in the office. So whats this supposed to mean? The people at the Arbs regional office are out to lunch? I guess they must all be at Arctic Circle. Just what was the Arbys sauce packets costing them?
